Michael Wilson ARI WRCardinals' Michael Wilson: Outlook muddied after recent arrivals
17h agoWilson has more competition for targets from quarterback Kyler Murray after the team selected Marvin Harrison fourth overall in this year's draft and then signed seven-year pro Zay Jones last week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Wilson spent much of the offseason No. 2, at best, in the pecking order in the Cardinals passing game behind tight end Trey McBride, but the recent additions leave Wilson's potential volume in the upcoming campaign up in the air. As a rookie second-round pick last year, Wilson put together a 38-565-3 line on 58 targets in 13 contests, but he produced just 13 catches (on 25 targets) for 164 yards and one touchdown in five outings with Murray under center. The arrival of the dynamic Harrison likely leaves Wilson fending for looks with Jones, who has three years with at least 500 receiving yards on his resume.

18h agoElliss (shoulder) should be fully recovered from shoulder surgery by training camp, Mike Klis of 9News reports.
Elliss underwent surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum six months ago, but he still isn't quite 100 percent. However, the Broncos' 2024 third-round selection was able to take part in walkthroughs and individual portions of the team's recent rookie minicamp. The son of former NFL player Luther Elliss, Jonah projects to be a pass-rush specialist after recording 12 sacks in just 10 games at Utah last season.

19h agoCamp signed a contract with the Browns on Tuesday.
Camp bounced around multiple practice squads last season, including Carolina's, which he was waived from Friday. The Georgia Tech product will now work to make the most of his new opportunity in Cleveland after not being able to find his way onto an active NFL roster in 2023.

Lucas Havrisik CLE KLucas Havrisik: Loses spot
19h agoHavrisik was waived by the Browns on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Havrisik signed a reserve/future contract with Cleveland in January after the Rams waived him. He was expected to at least have the opportunity to compete with Dustin Hopkins (hamstring) and Cade York for the team's kicker job in 2024, but instead, he'll become a free agent once again.

Corey Luciano SF CCorey Luciano: Cut loose by San Francisco
19h agoLuciano was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Luciano was set to get a second opportunity with the 49ers after appearing in two games with the franchise last season. However, he'll now hit the open market again to make room for swing tackle Chris Hubbard.

Jahmyr Gibbs DET RBLions' Jahmyr Gibbs: To see more touches in 2024
19h agoAppearing on The Rich Eisen Show on Monday, Lions GM Brad Holmes said he "definitely would expect" Gibbs to "see more of the load" out of the backfield in 2024.
Holmes added that he thinks Gibbs will also be even more involved in the passing game in his second season. Only seven running backs saw more targets than Gibbs' 71 in 2023, and his 52 catches were tied for the ninth-most at the position. Backfield mate David Montgomery out-carried Gibbs, 219-182, but Gibbs had a commanding edge in the pass game with 47 more targets than the veteran. There's reason to believe Gibbs' touches will rise in 2024, but Montgomery isn't going away. This backfield will remain a one-two punch, and Montgomery is the favorite for carries when the Lions are trying to kill the clock when they have a lead. Gibbs' fantasy ceiling remains extremely high due to the overall explosive nature of Detroit's offense.

4m agoYelich is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
With a lefty (Martin Perez) on the hill for Pittsburgh and the Brewers and Pirates getting together for a day game after a night game, the lefty-hitting Yelich will hit the bench in the series finale. Yelich's absence clears a spot in the outfield for Blake Perkins, who returns to the lineup after playing off the bench for the past two games.

8m agoBauers is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
Southpaw Martin Perez is on the bump for Pittsburgh, so the lefty-hitting Bauers will make his way to the bench for the series finale. Owen Miller will fill in at first base, which should be Bauers' primary home for the foreseeable future following Rhys Hoskins' (hamstring) move to the injured list Tuesday.

Pirates' Termarr Johnson: Hitting below Mendoza Line
10m agoJohnson is hitting .172 with a .390 OBP, one home run and four steals in 31 games for High-A Greensboro.
Johnson was touted by some evaluators as the best prep hitter since Joe Mauer or Ken Griffey Jr. when he was drafted fourth overall in 2022, so it's a bit jarring to see his career average sitting at .227. His career OBP is .409, and that's the area of his game he has leaned into thus far, as he is swinging less than 45 percent of the time and making contact less than 65 percent of the time. Once his luck on balls in play (.242 BABIP) stabilizes, his season line should look a bit better, but it's certainly been a disappointing return trip to the Sally League for Johnson, who turns 20 in June.

19m agoBethancourt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.
Bethancourt will sit for the second day in a row while Nick Fortes receives another turn behind the plate. Neither Bethancourt (.349 OPS) nor Fortes (.336 OPS) has been productive at the plate this season and both typically bat near the bottom of the order when included in the lineup, making it difficult to extract any fantasy value from the Marlins' catching situation.

Gavin Stone LAD SPDodgers' Gavin Stone: Cruises by Giants for win
21m agoStone (4-1) got the win Tuesday against the Giants, allowing one run on five hits and three walks while striking out two over six innings.
Stone walked more batters than he struck out, which is never ideal, but he generated a bunch of soft contact with the only run against him coming off a base hit in the sixth inning. That's now four straight quality starts for Stone during which he's allowed one run in each. Over his last six starts, the 25-year-old boasts a 2.00 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 18:12 K:BB in 36 innings. The strikeouts aren't there but Stone continues to give the Dodgers excellent length and tentatively lines up to face Arizona at home to begin next week.

Dominic Fletcher CHW CFWhite Sox's Dominic Fletcher: Back with big club
24m agoThe White Sox recalled Fletcher from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.
Fletcher was sent down to the minors late last month after hitting just just .203/.277/.271 with a 20:4 K:BB over 66 plate appearances with Chicago. He will get another look with the big club after slashing .238/.319/.405 with one home run in 11 contests with Charlotte. Gavin Sheets has just a .516 OPS in May, so Fletcher could end up emerging as a regular in right field.

OG Anunoby NY SFKnicks' OG Anunoby: Likely out for Game 6
1h agoAnunoby is expected to remain out Friday for the Knicks' Game 6 matchup with the Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinal round but may return to the lineup thereafter, Brian Windhorst reported Wednesday on ESPN's "Get Up" program. "He's out of the pool and doing some court work for the Knicks," Windhorst said of Anunoby. "If the Knicks advance, the fact that he's already out there on the court and doing some light work makes it a possibility that the Knicks could see him in the Eastern Conference Finals should they get one more victory."
Anunoby sounds unlikely to return to action for a potential Game 7 on Sunday if the Pacers were to extend the series with a win Friday, but the 26-year-old looks like he could be ready to go for the start of a conference final series with the Celtics or Cavaliers if his hamstring responds well to on-court work. After Precious Achiuwa had started in place of Anunoby in Games 3 and 4, Miles McBride entered the starting five for the Knicks' Game 5 win as part of a small-ball lineup.

9h agoPorter had six points (2-10 FG, 2-7 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist and two blocks over 36 minutes during Tuesday's 112-97 victory over the Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Porter managed just six points in the victory, continuing his recent offensive struggles. He has scored fewer than 10 points in three of the past four games, a very different story when compared to how he opened the playoffs. Despite his poor shooting, the Nuggets now sit just one win away from an other trip to the Conference Finals. Look for Porter to turn things around in the near future.

9h agoJokic supplied 40 points (15-22 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 8-9 FT), seven rebounds, 13 assists, one block and two steals over 41 minutes during Tuesday's 112-97 victory over the Timberwolves in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Jokic took over during the Game 5 victory, leading the Nuggets to a third consecutive victory over the Timberwolves. Despite coming up against the defensive player of the year, Jokic had no issues getting what he wanted in and around the basket. The series will now head back to Minnesota where Jokic and the Nuggets will look to wrap things up.

9h agoBraun closed Tuesday's 112-97 victory over Minnesota in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 10 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-3 FT), five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal over 28 minutes.
Braun continues to play meaningful minutes for the Nuggets, scoring double-digits for the second straight game. After failing to play more than 19 minutes during the first eight postseason games, he has now played 25 and 28 minutes respectively in each of the past two games. After reeling off three straight victories, the Nuggets now sit one win away from a trip to the Conference Finals.

9h agoEdwards provided 18 points (5-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT), four rebounds, nine assists and one steal in 44 minutes during Tuesday's 112-97 loss to the Nuggets in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Edwards struggled from the field, going 5-of-15 en route to just 18 points. After leading the series 2-0, the Timberwolves now find themselves trailing 3-2. Edwards is going to have to rediscover his mojo should they hope to extend the series to a seventh game.

9h agoAlexander-Walker amassed 14 points (5-12 FG, 4-8 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 39 minutes during Tuesday's 112-97 loss to the Nuggets in Game 5 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Alexander-Walker moved into the starting lineup Tuesday, replacing Mike Conley who was ruled out due to an Achilles issue. While he was far from spectacular, Alexander-Walker cobbled together a serviceable performance, contributing on both ends of the floor. Now trailing 3-2 in the series, Minnesota will be hoping Conley is cleared to return for Game 6. Should that not be the case, expect to see Alexander-Walker running with the starters once again.

Roope Hintz DAL LWStars' Roope Hintz: Won't play Wednesday
1m agoHintz (upper body) will miss Wednesday's Game 5 versus Colorado, per Stars radio analyst Bruce LeVine.
Hintz has two goals and six points in nine playoff contests this year. Dallas would advance to the Western Conference Finals with one more victory, which would give Hintz more time to rest. However, even if Colorado forces a Game 6 on Friday, the 27-year-old might still be an option given his current day-to-day status. In the meantime, Radek Faksa is projected to draw into the lineup against the Avalanche due to Hintz's absence.

Jani Hakanpaa DAL DStars' Jani Hakanpaa: Sidelined again Wednesday
2m agoHakanpaa (lower body) will remain on the shelf for Game 5 against the Avalanche on Wednesday, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports.
Hakanpaa hasn't played since March 16 versus the Kings, a stretch of 24 games on the shelf due to his lower-body problem. At this point, until he shows up at practice, Hakanpaa should probably be considered out indefinitely. Even if cleared to play, the defenseman is far from a lock for a spot in the lineup anyway.

Soucy was forced to watch from the press box after getting handed a one-game suspension for cross-checking Oilers' Connor McDavid in the face in Game 3. Through nine postseason contests, the 29-year-old defenseman has generated four assists, 27 hits and nine blocks, though he has yet to register a shot on goal.

Zadorov continues to make a mark in this second-round series -- he has five points over four contests, in addition to a cross-checking penalty that earned him a fine at the end of Game 3. The defenseman is up to eight points, 19 shots on net, 35 hits, 15 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over 10 playoff appearances. The 29-year-old saw 22:01 of ice time Tuesday, his second-highest total in the playoffs as he continues to earn more trust from head coach Rick Tocchet.

Lindholm set up Conor Garland on the Canucks' first goal during their third-period comeback effort. The helper gives Lindholm five points over four contests in the second round. He's up to five goals, three assists, 19 shots on net, 27 hits, 13 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through 10 outings this postseason. While he's listed on the third line, he gets enough all-situations minutes to be a de facto top-six forward.

Brock Boeser VAN RWCanucks' Brock Boeser: Snags assist in loss
9h agoBoeser notched an assist and three shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Oilers in Game 4.
Boeser has three goals and four assists during a five-game point streak. He was initially credited with the Canucks' second goal Tuesday, but it was later changed to an assist on Dakota Joshua's tally. Boeser is up to 12 points, 25 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over 10 playoff appearances. Boeser and J.T. Miller continue to form a strong partnership on the Canucks' top line.
