D.J. Chark CAR WRChargers' DJ Chark: Joins forces with Bolts
4h agoChark and the Chargers agreed to terms on a one-year contract Thursday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Per Rapoport, the deal is worth up to $5 million. Chark visited with the Chargers exactly one week before the 2024 NFL Draft, and his signing with the team comes exactly one week after its first round. With L.A., he'll be providing a veteran presence to a receiving corps that parted with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this offseason, meaning Chark will be vying with the likes of Joshua Palmer (knee), Quentin Johnston and second-round rookie Ladd McConkey for reps in the upcoming campaign. In 15 regular-season games with the Panthers in 2023, Chark hauled in 35 of 66 targets for 525 yards and five touchdowns.

Keenan Allen CHI WRBears' Keenan Allen: Part of loaded offense in Chicago
5h agoAllen, DJ Moore and Rome Odunze all worked out with new Bears QB Caleb Williams in April, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Williams and Odunze weren't on the team at the time, though in Williams' everyone knew he'd be going to Chicago with the No. 1 overall pick of the 2024 Draft. The Bears then took Odunze eight picks later, completing a fearsome WR trio with Allen and Moore. It's a situation that will make it nearly impossible for Allen to match his target volume from his years in San Diego and Los Angeles, even if Odunze needs some time to adjust to the pro game. Allen celebrated his 32nd birthday during the draft and is entering the final year of his contract, with GM Ryan Poles having said in March that he expected the veteran WR to sign an extension at some points. It's unclear if the Odunze selection changes the expectation for Alllen to sign a multi-year deal, as the Bears have enough cap flexibility to keep all three WRs for the next few seasons if that's what they choose to prioritize.

6h agoThe Falcons figure to be heavily reliant on Mooney and Drake London at wide receiver, Josh Kendall of The Athletic reports.
The Falcons have sent multiple signals that they expect Mooney to bounce back from a quiet 2023 in Chicago, first giving him $26 million guaranteed on a three-year, $39 million contract and now waiting until the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft before taking a wide receiver (Casey Washington). There's no serious competition for the No. 2 WR job, though it is possible Mooney ends up a distant fourth behind London, RB Bijan Robinson and TE Kyle Pitts in terms of prioritization in Atlanta' offense. Still, it's not a bad spot to be in, especially for a thin, fast receiver who projects better as a deep threat than as a high-volume guy.

Dameon Pierce HOU RBTexans' Dameon Pierce: Expected to contribute this year
6h agoGM Nick Caserio said Tuesday that he expects Pierce to be "a big part" of the Houston offense this upcoming season, Tyler Milner of Sports Radio 610 reports.
The 2022 fourth-round pick ran for 939 yards in 13 games his rookie season but then managed just 416 yards in 14 games last year. Pierce nosedived from 4.3 YPC to 2.9, losing his starting job to Devin Singletary in the process. Singletary is with the Giants now, but Pierce nonetheless appear destined for a backup role after the Texans traded for Joe Mixon and gave him an extension. The team then waited until the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft to select a running back, taking a player (Louisville's Jawhar Jordan) who six months older than Pierce and might only be used as a kick return specialist. In other words, Pierce has a nice opportunity to keep the second spot on the depth chart despite his lousy performance last season, though Dare Ogunbowale remains a threat to get playing time in obvious pass situations.

Kwity Paye IND DEColts' Kwity Paye: Gets fifth year
10h agoPaye had the fifth-year option on his contract exercised Thursday, Nate Atkins of The Indianapolis Star reports.
Paye had a successful third NFL season in 2023, recording career highs across the board, with 52 combined tackles, including 8.5 sacks. He also forced and recovered two fumbles. The Michigan product should now remain an integral part of the Colts' pass rush for the next two seasons.

Eric Stokes GB CBPackers' Eric Stokes: 2025 option denied
10h agoStokes (hamstring) will not have his fifth-year option exercised by the Packers, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Stokes had a successful rookie campaign after Green Bay selected him in the first round of the 2021 Draft, but he's had trouble staying on the field since. The Georgia product appeared in just three games in 2023, while suiting up nine times in 2022. If he can remain healthy this season though, he should be able to make an impact in Green Bay's secondary and is expected to start opposite Jaire Alexander at corner.

6m agoBrennan went 3-for-4 in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Astros.
Brennan's playing time has steadied lately with the Guardians facing five straight right-handed pitchers. The outfielder's results are still all over the place -- Brennan has five multi-hit efforts and three home runs over his last nine games, but he's gone 0-fer in the other four contests in that span. His trio of singles Thursday lifted his batting average from .228 to .253, and he's added four homers, 11 RBI, 13 runs scored and two stolen bases through 90 plate appearances on the year. Brennan remains in a strong-side platoon role with the majority of his playing time coming in right field.

Brayan Rocchio CLE SSGuardians' Brayan Rocchio: Records fifth steal
9m agoRocchio went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and one run scored in Thursday's 8-2 loss to the Astros.
Rocchio is up to five steals on the year, four of which have come over his last six games. In that span, he's hitting .294 (5-for-17) with a 5:6 BB:K and four runs scored. Rocchio is up to a .218/.317/.310 slash line with no home runs, four RBI, 14 runs scored and seven doubles through 102 plate appearances. He continues to hold down the starting job at shortstop while hitting at the bottom of the order.

44m agoAltuve went 3-for-5 with a run, an RBI and two stolen bases in an 8-2 victory versus Cleveland on Thursday.
Altuve continued his recent stretch of hot hitting, notching his third multi-hit effort over his past four contests. The veteran second baseman added a pair of thefts Thursday, and he's now swiped six bags over his past 15 games after failing to record a steal across his initial 16 contests of the campaign. Altuve ranks seventh among qualified hitters with a .352 average on the season and is tied for second with 45 hits.

Tyler Rogers SF RPGiants' Tyler Rogers: Earns sixth hold
1h agoRogers picked up a hold by pitching a perfect eighth inning in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Red Sox.
As expected, Rogers has served as a setup man for the Giants this year. He's pitched fairly well with a 2.63 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 9:0 K:BB over 13.2 innings while adding six holds in 15 appearances. He's yet to pick up a save, as Camilo Doval has yet to miss out on a save opportunity. Rogers' lack of a high strikeout rate limits his appeal in most fantasy formats, though it's encouraging that the submariner has avoided issuing free passes so far.

Jonathan Singleton HOU 1BAstros' Jon Singleton: Knocks in three runs Thursday
1h agoSingleton went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run and an additional RBI in Thursday's 8-2 win against the Guardians.
Singleton gave Houston its first lead with a two-run blast in the sixth inning and plated the team's final run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh. The first baseman has gone deep in two of his past three games, driving in six runs over that span. Though Joey Loperfido was called up Tuesday in correspondence with Jose Abreu being demoted to the minors Wednesday, the rookie has made both of his starts thus far in left field. As such, Singleton could have a path to near-everyday playing time at first base moving forward.

1h agoWalker (3-2) allowed a hit and struck out one without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the win Thursday over the Red Sox.
Walker is on a seven-inning scoreless streak, and he's racked up an 11:3 K:BB with two wins and two holds in that span. The right-hander is putting together a solid season in a versatile role, pitching to a 2.65 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB over 17 innings. He's added three holds, and while he doesn't see steady high-leverage usage, he's displayed the ability to limit baserunners and protect leads.

5h agoLillard tallied 28 points (7-16 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 10-10 FT), four assists and two rebounds over 35 minutes in Thursday's 120-98 loss to Indiana in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Lillard returned in Game 6 after missing the previous two games with an Achilles injury, doing all he could to help Milwaukee extend the series by leading all players in Thursday's series-ending contest in scoring and threes made while ending perfect from the free-throw line. Despite dealing with some injury issues during the first-round series against Indiana, Lillard posted 28 or more points in all four of his appearances while adding four or more threes in each of those contests.

5h agoPortis ended with 20 points (8-17 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-7 FT), 15 rebounds and two assists over 36 minutes in Thursday's 120-98 loss to Indiana in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Portis once again dominated the glass for Milwaukee in a season-ending loss Thursday, leading all players in the contest in rebounds while ending as one of three Bucks with 20 or more points in a double-double outing. Portis stepped up nicely in the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) in the first-round series, posting a double-double in five of the six contests while surpassing the 20-point mark in the final two games against Indiana.

5h agoMiddleton recorded 14 points (6-15 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and two steals over 38 minutes in Thursday's 120-98 loss to Indiana in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Middleton led Milwaukee seemingly on a nightly basis over the course of the first-round series against Indiana, but he was held in check in the series-ending contest Thursday while failing to record 15 points for the only time in the series. Middleton, who dealt with some foul trouble that seemed to impact his performance and aggressiveness in the first half, put together a strong opening-round series, scoring 20 or more points in four of the six contests.

T.J. McConnell IND PGPacers' T.J. McConnell: Stellar off bench in Game 6 win
5h agoMcConnell tallied 20 points (7-9 FG, 2-2 3Pt, 4-4 FT), nine assists, four steals and two rebounds over 23 minutes in Thursday's 120-98 win over Milwaukee in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
McConnell was outstanding off the Pacers bench in the series-clinching victory, ending second on the team in scoring and assists while leading all players in steals and coming up one dime shy of a double-double to provide a much-needed spark on the second unit. McConnell put forth his best performance of the postseason thus far, scoring more than 10 points for the first time while handing out his highest assist total of the first round. Indiana will look for McConnell to continue to provide a spark off the bench in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

5h agoToppin posted 21 points (8-15 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one block over 24 minutes in Thursday's 120-98 win over Milwaukee in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Toppin gave Indiana a much-needed lift off the bench, leading all Pacers in scoring while connecting on a team-high-tying trio of threes and ending two rebounds shy of a double-double in just under 25 minutes on the second unit. Toppin has been stellar off the bench this postseason but posted his best outing of the playoffs thus far in the series-clinching victory. Toppin concluded the first-round series by surpassing the double-digit scoring mark in four straight outings.

Haliburton once again provided an offensive lift for Indiana in a series-clinching victory, leading all players in Thursday's contest in assists while adding a half-dozen rebounds in a double-double performance. Haliburton recorded a double-double in three of the six games in the first round against Milwaukee, finishing with at least 15 points in four straight outings to round out the series.

Shattenkirk was scratched for Game 5 on Tuesday, but he checked back in for Matt Grzelcyk in this contest. The helper was Shattenkirk's first point in the postseason, to go with three shots on net, six hits and two blocked shots over five appearances. The 35-year-old blueliner is stuck on the third pairing, so he shouldn't be counted on to make contributions on offense.

Van Riemsdyk has earned two points, five shots on net, three hits and a plus-1 rating over four games since he entered the Bruins' lineup. The 34-year-old winger is still seeing limited usage in the bottom six, so he's unlikely to produce steady offense moving forward, though he also gets time on the second power-play unit.

Geekie tallied in the final second of the game, but it only served to break up Joseph Woll's shutout. Through six playoff outings, Geekie has two goals, one assist, nine shots on net, 15 hits and an even plus-minus rating. The 25-year-old continues to feature in a top-six role, though his offense hasn't matched that usage.

Swayman has lost back-to-back games, but he still hasn't given up more than two goals in any of his five first-round starts. William Nylander had both tallies Thursday, scoring in the final minute of the second period on a deflected shot and adding another goal late in the third. With the Bruins facing Game 7, it's unclear if head coach Jim Montgomery will stick with Swayman or switch to Linus Ullmark on Saturday.

Liljegren snapped a nine-game point drought with the helper. During that time, he missed eight games with an upper-body injury and was a healthy scratch once (in Game 4 of the first round). The defenseman's place in the lineup is mostly secure, but it's not a guaranteed spot. He matched his career high with 23 points while adding 62 shots on net, 92 hits and 116 blocked shots in 55 regular-season appearances in 2023-24.

Knies has picked his offense up in recent games, earning all three of his postseason points over the last four contests. He's been in a top-six role since Auston Matthews (illness) exited Toronto's lineup. Knies has added 12 shots on net, 22 hits, nine blocked shots and a minus-1 rating through six playoff outings.
