Michael Wilson ARI WRCardinals' Michael Wilson: Outlook muddied after recent arrivals
5h agoWilson has more competition for targets from quarterback Kyler Murray after the team selected Marvin Harrison fourth overall in this year's draft and then signed seven-year pro Zay Jones last week, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Wilson spent much of the offseason No. 2, at best, in the pecking order in the Cardinals passing game behind tight end Trey McBride, but the recent additions leave Wilson's potential volume in the upcoming campaign up in the air. As a rookie second-round pick last year, Wilson put together a 38-565-3 line on 58 targets in 13 contests, but he produced just 13 catches (on 25 targets) for 164 yards and one touchdown in five outings with Murray under center. The arrival of the dynamic Harrison likely leaves Wilson fending for looks with Jones, who has three years with at least 500 receiving yards on his resume.

6h agoElliss (shoulder) should be fully healed by training camp, Mike Klis of 9News reports.
Elliss underwent surgery to repair a torn shoulder labrum six months ago, but he still isn't quite 100 percent. However, the Broncos' 2024 third-round selection was able to take part in walkthroughs and individual portions of the team's recent rookie minicamp. The son of former NFL player, Luther Elliss, Jonah projects to be a pass-rush specialist after recording 12 sacks in just 10 games at Utah last season.

7h agoHavrisik was waived by the Browns on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Havrisik signed a reserve/future contract with Cleveland in January after the Rams waived him. He was expected to at least have the opportunity to compete with Dustin Hopkins (hamstring) and Cade York for the team's kicker job in 2024, but instead, he'll become a free agent once again.

7h agoLuciano was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Luciano was set to get a second opportunity with the 49ers after appearing in two games with the franchise last season. However, he'll now hit the open market again, to make room for swing tackle Chris Hubbard, and to keep San Francisco under the 90-man roster limit.

Jahmyr Gibbs DET RBLions' Jahmyr Gibbs: To see more touches in 2024
7h agoAppearing on The Rich Eisen Show on Monday, Lions GM Brad Holmes said he "definitely would expect" Gibbs to "see more of the load" out of the backfield in 2024.
Holmes added that he thinks Gibbs will also be even more involved in the passing game in his second season. Only seven running backs saw more targets than Gibbs' 71 in 2023, and his 52 catches were tied for the ninth-most at the position. Backfield mate David Montgomery out-carried Gibbs 219 to 182, but Gibbs had a commanding edge in the pass game with 47 more targets than the veteran. There's reason to believe Gibbs' touches will rise in 2024, but Montgomery isn't going away. This backfield will remain a one-two punch, and Montgomery is the favorite for carries when the Lions are trying to kill the clock when they have a lead. Gibbs' fantasy ceiling remains extremely high due to the overall explosive nature of Detroit's offense.

7h agoBrown was waived by the 49ers on Tuesday, David Lombardi of The Athletic reports.
Brown headed to San Francisco in February after appearing in 12 games over two seasons with the Rams. The Northwestern product will depart the team, along with center Corey Luciano, to make room for recent additions, Chris Hubbard and Shakel Brown to keep the 49ers under the current 90-man roster limit.

2m agoSears allowed a run on five hits and a walk while striking out two over five innings in a no-decision versus the Astros on Tuesday.
Sears' lone mistake was a solo home run by Alex Bregman in the second inning. While it wasn't the most efficient outing -- Sears threw 65 of 100 pitches for strikes -- it was a decent performance for a pitcher that's had few middle-of-the-road efforts so far. This was the fifth time he's allowed one or fewer runs, but he's given up four or more runs in each of his other four outings. Sears is at a 3.96 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 35:14 K:BB through 50 innings, and he'll carry a 3-2 record into his next start, tentatively projected to be in Kansas City.

Ryan Weathers MIA SPMarlins' Ryan Weathers: Excellent in no-decision
5m agoWeathers did not factor into the decision Tuesday against the Tigers, allowing just three hits in eight scoreless innings. He struck out four.
Weathers was excellent Tuesday as he held the Tigers to one hit while facing the minimum through his first six innings. However, Miami couldn't break through on offense until the 10th, leaving Weathers with a no-decision in an eventual 1-0 Marlins victory. The 24-year-old southpaw has now delivered three straight quality starts, though he still hasn't earned a win since April 16. Overall, Weathers is 2-4 with a 3.81 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 38:16 K:BB across nine starts (49.2 innings) this season. His next outing is currently lined up for early next week at home against the Brewers.

Alex Bregman HOU 3BAstros' Alex Bregman: Goes deep again Tuesday
6m agoBregman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Athletics.
Bregman entered the Oakland series with one homer on the year, but he's hit three long balls and added two doubles over his last two games. The third baseman has gone 10-for-24 (.417) during a six-game hitting streak, though he's still got a long way to go to get his season-long numbers at an acceptable level. Bregman is slashing .225/.293/.358 with four homers, 18 RBI, 12 runs scored, eight doubles and two stolen bases over 39 contests.

9m agoHader (2-3) allowed a walk and struck out three over two scoreless and hitless innings to earn the extra-inning win over the Athletics on Tuesday.
After starter Ronel Blanco was ejected for the alleged use of a foreign substance, this became a bit of a bullpen game for the Astros as they looked to protect a 1-0 lead. Ryan Pressly couldn't maintain the lead in the eighth inning, but Hader pitched well in the ninth and 10th, and he got the win after Victor Caratini delivered a walk-off hit as a pinch hitter. Hader's active 4.1-inning scoreless streak is his longest of the season. He's now at a 4.74 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 30:9 K:BB with five saves in six chances over 19 innings this season.

1h agoThe Nationals returned Rutledge to Triple-A Rochester after Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.
Rutledge pitched one inning during the nightcap in what was his season debut, allowing one earned run on two hits while striking out one batter. He holds a 6.33 ERA and 1.63 WHIP through 27 innings across seven starts in the minors, and he would likely need to show significant improvement before he draws consideration for an extended stint in the big leagues.

Anderson pitched a scoreless inning during the first game of the twin bill, giving up one walk while punching out two batters. He owns a 2.81 ERA and 1.06 WHIP across 16 frames in Triple-A, and he could return to the majors later this year if Chicago's bullpen depth is tested further.

Haliburton's five assists tied with T.J. McConnell for most on the Pacers in Game 5 on Tuesday. Haliburton failed to reach 20 points after doing so over the past three games, though he managed to contribute on the defensive end of the floor, recording two blocks for the first time this postseason. Haliburton is averaging 18.5 points on 48.1 percent shooting, 5.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 1.3 steals across 35.3 minutes per game in the playoffs.

16m agoSiakam notched 22 points (7-for-15 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal over 33 minutes in Tuesday's 121-91 loss to the Knicks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Siakam was the only Pacer to score 20-plus points in Game 5 on Tuesday, and he was the second-leading scorer for the game behind Jalen Brunson. Siakam managed to reach 20-plus points for the second time in three games, and he got some of those from the charity stripe after not attempting a single free throw in Game 4. Siakam is averaging 19.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Myles Turner IND CPacers' Myles Turner: Hits four threes in Game 5
23m agoTurner contributed 16 points (6-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in Tuesday's 121-91 loss to the Knicks in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Turner was responsible for four of the Pacers' 12 three-point makes Tuesday, his most in the postseason since Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs against the Bucks. He extended his streak of two-plus blocks to three games Tuesday, but he also committed a team-high four turnovers. Turner is averaging 17.6 points on 49.3 percent shooting (including 45.3 percent on 3.8 3PA/G), 6.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 blocks over 32.4 minutes per game in the postseason.

30m agoTowns left Tuesday's game versus the Nuggets with 2:14 remaining in the first quarter due to an apparent left knee injury but checked back in with 1:23 left in the first quarter.
Towns appeared to aggravate the left knee that he had surgically repaired in March after Kentavious Caldwell-Pope inadvertently tripped him, Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette reports. However, Towns missed less than a minute of game action and should be available to finish Tuesday's contest.

After being a non-factor in the Knicks' Game 4 loss Sunday, Hart bounced back to grab double-digit rebounds for the eighth time this postseason. Hart and Isaiah Hartenstein dominated the glass in Game 5, combing for 28 of the Knicks' 53 rebounds Tuesday. Hart is averaging 15.8 points on 45.9 percent shooting, 12.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.0 steals over 43.6 minutes per game this postseason.

41m agoBrunson finished Tuesday's 121-91 win over the Pacers in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with 44 points (18-35 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 6-7 FT), four rebounds and seven assists across 43 minutes.
Brunson led the Knicks in scoring for the eighth time this postseason and the third time this series. After going 16-for-43 over the previous two games, Brunson was far more efficient with his 35 shot attempts in Game 5, his most of the playoffs. He's averaging 33.9 points on 45.1 percent shooting, 3.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists over 41.0 minutes per game in the postseason.

1h agoReinhart scored a goal on eight shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Bruins in Game 5.
Reinhart has been dialed in with two goals and four assists over five games in the second round. The 28-year-old is up to five goals, nine points, 46 shots on net, 30 hits and a plus-3 rating over 10 playoff contests. Reinhart has earned just two of his postseason points with the man advantage after collecting 34 of his 94 regular-season points on the power play.

Sergei Bobrovsky FLA GPanthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Loses close Game 5
1h agoBobrovsky allowed two goals on 28 shots in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Bruins in Game 5.
Bobrovsky's loss came on thin margins, as Morgan Geekie and Charlie McAvoy had the goals for the Bruins. McAvoy's goal was reviewed for goaltender interference, but it was upheld. Bobrovsky has lost both games in the second round where he's faced more than 20 shots, which could be problematic if he can't clutch up with the Bruins upping their intensity while facing elimination. It's a near guarantee Bobrovsky will get the nod for Friday's Game 6 in his second chance to send the Panthers to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Frederic hasn't scored a goal in seven games, and he's added a modest two assists in that span. The 26-year-old winger has seen a bump up into the top six while Brad Marchand (upper body) has been out. Frederic has five points, 17 shots on net, 49 hits, 20 PIM and a plus-6 rating over 12 playoff appearances. He'll likely drop back to the third line if Marchand is cleared to play in Friday's Game 6.

He should continue to see top-six minutes, though it appears he's benefiting from a larger role while Brad Marchand (upper body) is unavailable.

Coyle set up Charlie McAvoy's second-period tally, which was the game-winner. With three points over five games in the second round, Coyle has surpassed his production from the seven-game first round versus the Maple Leafs. He's still not doing great overall, but he's added 56 hits, 23 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating to his five points over 12 playoff appearances while holding down a top-six role.

1h agoGeekie scored a goal on three shots and added two PIM in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Panthers in Game 5.
The goal was Geekie's second in the last five games, and it gave him four tallies and five points through 12 playoff contests. The 25-year-old has held down a top-six role throughout the postseason, but his contributions tend to be more complementary on offense. He's added 17 shots on net, 27 hits and a plus-2 rating.
