Gathings inked a reserve/future deal with Kansas City back in February after being part of the team's practice squad for nearly two months to close out the 2023 campaign. He's yet to play in a regular-season game.

15h agoThompson-Robinson (hip) will undergo an MRI on Monday and is expected to participate in minicamp next week, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.
DTR suffered a hip subluxation against the Texans on Christmas Eve and was ruled out for the remainder of the Browns' season. His most recent MRI in March revealed progress in his rehab, and Thompson-Robinson is hoping the latest one this upcoming week will allow him to get the green light to do some on-field work with the team's rookies and fellow younger players. The Browns signed veteran QBs Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley in the offseason, so DTR is facing stiff competition for backup duties behind Deshaun Watson.

16h agoAli (biceps) is participating in some of the Ravens' minicamp drills and is expected to be fully recovered ahead of training camp, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
The rookie fifth-round pick ruptured his biceps tendon at the Senior Bowl back in late January, but the Marshall product is expected to be fully recovered ahead of Baltimore's training camp in August. Ali is poised to compete for a pivotal role in the backfield, as J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) and Gus Edwards are now both with the Chargers and Keaton Mitchell (knee) is still recovering after tearing his ACL in December.

Ravens' Rasheen Ali: Hopeful for training camp
18h agoHead coach John Harbaugh indicated Saturday that he expects Ali (biceps) to be good to go in time for training camp, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Ali ruptured his biceps tendon at the Senior Bowl, but he was still selected by the Ravens in the fifth round of this year's draft. The intriguing prospect had multiple 1,000-yard seasons with Marshall, but he also missed nearly the entire 2022 campaign due to an MCL injury. When healthy, he projects to compete for a role providing depth in Baltimore's backfield behind Derrick Henry.

2d agoSeattle signed Torrence to a contract Friday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Torrence wasn't selected in the NFL Draft in late April but will get a shot to make his case for a roster or practice-squad spot after signing with the Seahawks. The 6-foot-3 defensive back played the final two seasons of college with Arizona State and totaled 37 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) along with an interception in 2023. Torrence allowed just 20 receptions in coverage last season, the lowest total among Pac-12 cornerbacks with at least 300 snaps played in coverage during the regular season.

5m agoKim went 1-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's win over the Diamondbacks.
Kim went hitless in his first three at-bats before joining in on the party in the top of the seventh with a three-run homer, his fifth long ball of the season. The infielder would drive in another run in the ninth on a groundout, giving him a season-high four RBI in the contest. Kim has hit safely in three of his last four games, but has only five games this season in which he's registered multiple hits.

10m agoMuncy went 4-for-5 with three home runs and four RBI in Saturday's 11-2 win over Atlanta.
The three home runs were a single-game career high for Muncy, who ended a season-long power drought after he had blasted just five long balls through his first 30 contests of the campaign prior to Saturday. Muncy's slugging percentage rose exactly 100 points after the huge game and now sits at .551 for the season, which is the best mark of his career since his first year with the Dodgers in 2018.

13m agoProfar went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and two runs scored in Saturday's blowout win over the Diamondbacks. He also stole a base.
Profar reached on a fielder's choice play in the first before stealing his second base of the season and later kicked off a two-run inning with a leadoff single in the fourth. He would add two more hits on the night, including a two-run homer off Brandon Hughes in the seventh as the Padres ran away with their fourth straight win. The veteran outfielder has now ripped off three or more hits in three of his last four games and has hit safely in nine of his last 10. Over that latter stretch he has three home runs and eight RBI with 10 runs scored.

Brandon Pfaadt ARI SPDiamondbacks' Brandon Pfaadt: Allows 10 hits in loss
24m agoPfaadt (1-2) took the loss against the Padres on Saturday, allowing five runs (three earned) on 10 hits over six innings. He struck out four.
Pfaadt struggled with San Diego's lineup throughout the contest, allowing hits to three of the first four batters he faced and surrendering three runs over the first four innings - though one of those wouldn't be charged to him on account of a fielding error by Blaze Alexander. The right-hander was later relieved by Brandon Hughes in the seventh after surrendering back-to-back singles to open the frame, which led to an eight-run inning for the Padres. Despite his struggles on the night, Pfaadt still managed to log his second-consecutive quality start and has now posted a 15:0 K:BB over his last two outings. However, he also allowed a season-high 10 hits in Saturday's loss and hasn't posted a win since March 31.

Michael King SD SPPadres' Michael King: Hurls six shutout frames in win
43m agoKing (3-3) earned the win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday, allowing six hits over six shutout innings while striking out three.
King surrendered hits to three of the first four batters he faced in the contest but was able to work his way out of it before retiring the next 11 batters in succession. The right-hander didn't issue a walk for the first time this season, though his three strikeouts on the night also marked a season low. King had allowed at least four runs in back-to-back starts coming in and in three of his last four overall, taking three consecutive losses over that stretch. However, he's now posted three quality starts on the season and has gone at least five innings in five of his last six outings.

1h agoMarte went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's loss to the Rays.
Marte drove in the Mets' only run of the game with an RBI single in the top of the first, following a leadoff double from Brandon Nimmo to open the frame. The right fielder would add another single and a walk in the contest while also swiping his seventh bag of the season. Marte has struggled a bit at the plate as of late and is batting just .188 (3-for-16) in May. However, he's also tallied multiple hits in five of his last 11 games.

10h agoMurray racked up 17 points (6-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-3 FT), one rebound and four assists over 34 minutes during Saturday's 106-99 loss to Minnesota in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Murray wasn't as strong as we've seen him in the past in Saturday's contest, but he still managed to end three points shy of the 20-point mark while ending as one of three Nuggets with 15 or more points in a losing effort. It will be key to see how Murray, who has been dealing with calf discomfort of late, is able to perform throughout the semifinals and to monitor whether his injury limits him to any extent against a talented Timberwolves squad.

10h agoPorter finished with 20 points (6-13 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds, one assist, one block and three steals across 40 minutes during Saturday's 106-99 loss to Minnesota in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Porter led all players in Saturday's contest in threes made while ending as one of two Nuggets with 20 or more points and adding a half-dozen rebounds in a losing effort. Porter has surpassed the 20-point mark in five straight playoff contests, connecting on four or more threes in three straight games.

10h agoJokic notched 32 points (11-25 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 8-8 FT), eight rebounds, nine assists and three steals in 41 minutes during Saturday's 106-99 loss to Minnesota in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Jokic led all Nuggets players in scoring, rebounds and assists to go along with a team-high-tying trio of steals in a well-rounded performance that nearly resulted in a triple-double in Saturday's Game 1. Jokic struggled a bit from the field but still finished north of 30 points for the third time this postseason and concluded one assist and two boards shy of a triple-double. Jokic has a tough matchup against Minnesota's big men, so it will be key to keep an eye on how he is able to perform against a strong defense in the semifinals.

10h agoReid ended Saturday's 106-99 win over Denver in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals with 16 points (7-11 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one steal in 23 minutes.
Reid struggled over the first three quarters of Saturday's contest but showed up in a big way in the fourth frame, scoring 14 of his 16 points and giving the Timberwolves a boost off the bench in a winning effort. The Sixth Man of the Year ended as one of four Minnesota players with 10 or more points in the road victory, notching his third game of the postseason in double figures in scoring.

Conley led all players in Saturday's Game 1 in assists while ending as one of four Timberwolves in double figures in scoring and as the lone player with a double-double in a winning effort. Conley, who connected on a team-high-tying trio of threes, reached double digits in assists for the first time this postseason, and he has recorded at least 10 points and seven dimes in three playoff outings.

11h agoEdwards supplied 43 points (17-29 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 6-6 FT), seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 42 minutes during Saturday's 106-99 victory over the Nuggets in Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals.
Edwards did it all to lead Minnesota to a Game 1 win on the road, posting a new playoff career high in scoring while leading all players in Saturday's contest in points scored in an offensive showcase. Edwards, who scored 16 points in the first quarter alone and capped the game with 12 points in the final quarter, became the first Timberwolves player to post two consecutive 40-point playoff games. If Edwards can continue to pace Minnesota the way he did in Game 1, the Timberwolves will be in a good position to steal another game on the road in Game 2.

9h agoBertuzzi produced an assist and three shots on goal in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Bruins in Game 7.
Bertuzzi helped out on William Nylander's third-period tally. The 29-year-old Bertuzzi put up a goal, three assists, 21 shots on net, 22 hits and a plus-2 rating over seven playoff contests as one of the Maple Leafs' more effective forwards. He's set for unrestricted free agency this summer, coming off a 43-point regular season and a one-year contract that paid him $5.5 million.

Auston Matthews TOR CMaple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Provides helper in loss
9h agoMatthews recorded an assist, three shots on goal and six hits in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Bruins in Game 7.
Matthews missed Games 5 and 6 with an undisclosed injury, and he was able to play just 17:35 in Game 7. The 26-year-old contributed a helper on William Nylander's tally in the third period, but the Maple Leafs held that lead for just 1:21. Matthews ended the playoffs with four points, 20 shots on net, 25 hits and a plus-2 rating over five appearances. His four-year, $53 million contract extension, which he signed in August of 2023, kicks in next season.

9h agoNylander scored a goal on five shots, blocked three shots and added two hits in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Bruins in Game 7.
Nylander missed three games to begin the series due to a migraine issue, but he showed up late in the first round with three goals over the final two contests. The winger added 18 shots on net, six hits and five blocked shots. While another first-round exit is unfortunate for Toronto, Nylander's future with the team was confirmed when he signed an eight-year contract extension in January. The 28-year-old produced his second straight 40-goal season and finished with a career-high 98 points in 82 regular-season contests, so he should be a solid choice for fantasy managers in the early rounds of drafts in the fall.

Ilya Samsonov TOR GMaple Leafs' Ilya Samsonov: Drops Game 7 in overtime
9h agoSamsonov allowed two goals on 31 shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime loss to the Bruins in Game 7.
Samsonov put in a strong showing after Joseph Woll (undisclosed) was deemed unavailable for the winner-take-all contest. Samsonov was able to get the game to overtime, but a bank pass from Hampus Lindholm found David Pastrnak in the space between Samsonov and defenseman Morgan Rielly, and Pastrnak was able to convert the decisive goal. Samsonov won just one of his five playoff appearances, allowing 14 goals on 134 shots during the first round. The 27-year-old will be an unrestricted free agent this summer, and the emergence of Woll makes it seem unlikely Samsonov will be back to the Maple Leafs after a mediocre campaign.

10h agoCarlo notched an assist, three hits and three blocked shots in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Maple Leafs in Game 7.
Carlo was credited with the secondary helper on David Pastrnak's game-winning goal at 1:54 of overtime. The 27-year-old Carlo had a goal, an assist, 11 shots on net, 16 hits, 16 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over seven appearances in the first round. He's not known for his offense, but Carlo's spot in the lineup as a shutdown defenseman is secure.

10h agoBrazeau notched an assist, three shots on goal and seven hits in Saturday's 2-1 overtime win over the Maple Leafs in Game 7.
Brazeau picked up his first playoff point with a helper on Hampus Lindholm's third-period tally. The 26-year-old Brazeau has held down a bottom-six role over the last three contests, adding 16 hits and four shots on net. He could stay in the lineup once Danton Heinen (undisclosed) is available to play again.
