Packers' Kalen King: Falls to Green Bay in Round 7
    5m ago

The Packers selected King in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 255th overall.

King entered this season with some buzz as a much earlier pick after leading the Big 10 in pass breakups as a true sophomore with 21. His pass breakup count dropped to just two in 12 games in 2023, and he had no interceptions. His combine performance further hurt his stock as he ran a 4.61 at 5-foot-11, 191 pounds. The Packers can dream on recapturing King's 2022 form because production like that is uncommon. They will also have to hope that they are not getting the player they saw in 2023.

Chargers' Cornelius Johnson: Joins Harbaugh in Los Angeles
    6m ago

The Chargers selected Johnson in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 253rd overall.

The popular assumption was the Chargers would invest a number of draft picks in former Michigan players to join Jim Harbaugh in his new digs, but Johnson represents just the second maize and blue to be drafted by Los Angeles. At 6-foot-3, 228 pounds, Johnson proved to be a capable receiver in his five seasons at Ann Arbor tallying 1,730 receiving yards and 119 receptions over the final three campaigns in the run-heavy offense. It's hard to imagine Johnson finally breaking out as a quality target despite all of his physical gifts, but at least alongside Harbaugh, he'll have some familiarity from a leadership perspective.

Titans' Jaylen Harrell: Tennessee adds Round 7 pass rusher
    10m ago

The Titans selected Harrell in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 252nd overall.

Harrell is a fringe prospect for a reason -- namely, he's unrefined as a pass rusher and doesn't have much variety of moves to work around blockers -- but as far as seventh-round picks go he can't be a bad value. Harrell was a prominent contributor on Michigan's National Championship-winning defense, and at 6-foot-4, 250 pounds he boasts a 40-yard dash time around the 4.70-second range. Those are good enough athletic tools for the NFL, so it's just on Harrell to develop his skill set a bit more to become more consistently disruptive.

49ers' Tatum Bethune: Links up with San Francisco
    12m ago

The 49ers selected Bethune in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 251st overall.

Bethune is a seasoned linebacker who appeared in 61 games over five seasons at Florida State. He lacks speed (4.75) for his size (5-foot-11, 229) and was known to overpursue plays during his time in college. Special teams will likely be his meal ticket in the early going, but landing in San Francisco is a good spot for him to develop given the franchise's success in unearthing gems at this position late in drafts.

Buccaneers' Devin Culp: Tight end depth for Tampa Bay
    16m ago

The Buccaneers selected Culp in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 246th overall.

Culp is an athletic tight end who serves as a flier for Tampa Bay in the final round of the draft. He was a member of the explosive Washington offense in 2023, but was limited to only 16 catches for 208 yards. He struggled to remain on the field consistently as a tight end, but he was part of kick and punt coverage units -- which is likely also his clearest path to an NFL roster.

Texans' LaDarius Henderson: Winds up in Houston
    18m ago

The Texans selected Henderson in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 249th overall.

Henderson actually started for Arizona State when he was just 17 years old, but he eventually transferred to Ann Arbor in his final season and started for the national-title winning team. Throughout his five career collegiate seasons, Henderson started 20 games at tackle and another 19 at guard, so his versatility could be useful for the Texans' offensive line depth.

Cubs' Christopher Morel: Emerges from fall uninjured
    1m ago

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Morel "is fine" after exiting Saturday's game versus the Red Sox after the seventh inning following a fall in the outfield, CHGO Cubs reports.

Morel toppled over left fielder Alexander Canario after making a running catch and landed hard on the ground. He looked to be in some pain and was removed from the game at that point. However, it sounds like he probably would've remained in if the score hadn't been so lopsided. It does not appear fantasy managers need to have any worries about Morel's status.

Blue Jays' Yusei Kikuchi: Hit hard in Saturday's loss
    3m ago

Kikuchi (2-2) took the loss Saturday, giving up four runs on nine hits over six innings as the Blue Jays fell 4-2 to the Dodgers. He struck out three without walking a batter.

While the southpaw did manage to keep the ball in the yard, he still gave up some very loud contact, including three extra-base hits and an RBI single by Shohei Ohtani in the second inning that left his bat with a stunning exit velocity of 119.2 mph. Kikuchi saw his quality start streak end at three, but he'll take a strong 2.94 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 36:8 K:BB through 33.2 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road next weekend against the Nationals.

Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Steals eighth bag
    9m ago

Betts went 3-for-5 with a triple, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Blue Jays.

The 31-year-old extended his current hitting streak to seven games with his fourth straight multi-hit performance, and he also swiped a bag for the third straight contest. Betts is having a monster start to the season, slashing .391/.489/.661 through 115 plate appearances with six homers, eight steals, 23 RBI and 29 runs, and while it's early, he's firmly on pace for the second 30-30 campaign of his career.

Dodgers' Evan Phillips: Notches eighth save
    31m ago

Phillips gave up an unearned run on one hit and struck out two Saturday to record his eighth save of the season in a 4-2 win over the Blue Jays.

The closer's own throwing error with two outs put Davis Schneider aboard and led to Toronto's final run, but Phillips otherwise had little trouble sealing the victory. The right-hander is a perfect 8-for-8 in converting save chances to begin the season, and he's delivered a dazzling 0.77 ERA and 15:4 K:BB through 11.2 innings.

Lakers' Christian Wood: Will play Saturday

Wood (knee) will be available for Game 4 against the Nuggets on Saturday, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.

Wood will finally return after a prolonged absence, as he hasn't stepped on the court since Feb. 14. He's expected to have a role off the bench and will compete for frontcourt minutes with Jaxson Hayes, though by all accounts, his role will be minimal Saturday.

Lillard (Achilles) is doubtful for Sunday's Game 4 versus the Pacers,

A report from Shams Charania of The Athletic on Friday hinted at this, but now the Bucks have officially listed Lillard as doubtful on their injury report. Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) is also doubtful, so the Bucks will need guys like Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez to step up offensively.

    Stars' Jani Hakanpaa: Not practicing

Hakanpaa (lower body) has yet to return to practice, Lia Assimakopoulos of The Dallas Morning News reports Saturday.

Hakanpaa is likely not an option for Saturday's Game 3 or Monday's Game 4, and if the Stars don't win one of those games, their season is over. Hakanpaa's continued absence will keep Nils Lundkvist in the lineup on the third pairing. Hakanpaa can be considered out indefinitely until he resumes practicing with the team.

Lightning's Haydn Fleury: Won't play Saturday

Fleury (undisclosed) isn't expected to play in Game 4 against Florida on Saturday, per the NHL media site.

Fleury had a goal, five points, 31 hits and 40 blocks in 24 regular-season outings. He hasn't been in the lineup since April 6 because of the injury. If Fleury had been available for Game 4, he might have served as the seventh defenseman or been a healthy scratch.

Lightning's Mikhail Sergachev: Surprise return Saturday
    3h ago

Sergachev (leg) was activated off long-term injured reserve, per the NHL media site, which sets him up to return for Game 4 against Florida on Saturday.

Sergachev was previously ruled out for the entire first round, so this news is a huge surprise. However, Tampa Bay is down 3-0 in the series, so if the defenseman didn't come back now, then it might have been too late. He had two goals, 19 points, 36 hits and 70 blocks in 34 regular-season appearances. While Sergachev typically serves in a top-four capacity, his minutes might be limited in his first contest since February 7.

Vasilevskiy has gone 0-3 this postseason, surrendering nine goals on 94 shots (.904 save percentage). The Lightning need a victory Saturday to avoid a four-game sweep, and the team should get a boost from having Mikhail Sergachev (leg) back in the lineup.

  • Brenden Dillon WPG D
Jets' Brenden Dillon: Questionable for Sunday
    3h ago

Dillon didn't receive any muscle or tendon damage as a result of the skate cut to his hand, which occurred during a scrum at the end of Friday's 6-2 loss to Colorado in Game 3. Although it's great news that he didn't suffer a more serious injury, the 33-year-old defenseman did require stitches and remains questionable for Game 4 versus the Avalanche on Sunday, Mike McIntyre of the Winnipeg Free Press reports Saturday.

Dillon has three assists, four PIM, 12 hits and six blocks while averaging 21:04 of ice time across three playoff contests this year. He also accumulated eight goals, 20 points, 92 PIM, 241 hits and 111 blocks in 77 regular-season outings. If Dillon is forced to miss any action due to the injury, then Logan Stanley will likely draw into the lineup.
