Tank Dell HOU WR
Texans' Tank Dell: Sustains minor wound in shooting
2h agoThe Texans have issued a statement relaying that Dell -- who sustained a minor wound as the result of a shooting in Florida on Saturday night -- has been released from the hospital and is in good spirits.
Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Dell is expected to make a full recovery from the wound he sustained during Saturday night's incident at a nightclub in Sanford, Fla. Dell is coming off a 2023 regular-season in which he recorded a 47/709/7 receiving line in 11 games prior to sustaining a season-ending broken fibula Dec. 3.

Cephus, who spent five years with UTSA, is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he recorded a school-record 1,151 receiving yards with 10 touchdowns on 89 catches in 13 games en route to earning first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors, Greg Luca of the San Antonio Express-News reports. With Jacksonville, the 6-2, 189-pounder has plenty of competition for a roster spot, but Cephus could potentially land a depth role or practice squad slot with a strong training camp/offseason.

Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint 2005 WR
Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint: Headed to Washington as UDFA
3h agoRosemy-Jacksaint is in line to sign with the Commanders as an undrafted free agent, according to Greg Auman of Fox Sports.
This past season, his fourth with Georgia, Rosemy-Jacksaint caught 34 passes for 535 yards and four TDs in 13 games. With Washington, the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder is slated to have an opportunity to compete for a depth role behind top returning WR options Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson.
-
Jabari Small 2005 RB
Jabari Small: In line to join Tennessee as UDFA
4h agoSmall is slated to sign with the Titans as an undrafted free agent, Nick Suss of the Nashville Tennessean reports.
Small, who played his college ball with the Tennessee Volunteers, is thus in line to compete for a depth role in a Titans backfield that is currently led by Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. This past season, Small worked behind 2024 fourth-rounder Jaylen Wright, carrying 95 times for 475 yards and two TDs, while adding seven catches in 11 games.

Sam Darnold MIN QB
Vikings' Sam Darnold: Vikings won't rush to name starting QB
17h agoThe Vikings could begin the season with Darnold as the team's starting quarterback despite taking J.J. McCarthy with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, ESPN reports. "We're not going to rush his development," said general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. "We're just going to do what's best for the Vikings in the short and long term."
Darnold signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Vikings as a short-term veteran starter or backup. It's hard to handicap when McCarthy may take over the starting job this soon after the draft, but it's notable the Vikings are trying to reduce expectations. Expect the quarterback battle for the Week 1 starting job to commence this summer. Still, odds are Darnold will only be the starter for a few weeks at most if McCarthy is healthy and making progress.

Garrett Whitlock BOS SP
Red Sox's Garrett Whitlock: No mound progression yet
18m agoWhitlock (oblique) has not thrown off a mound yet in his recovery, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.
Whitlock has been on the 15-day injured list with an oblique injury since April 17, but he doesn't appear to be nearing a return quite yet. Manager Alex Cora said Sunday that the right-hander is "feeling better" but he "still feels it" in regards to his left oblique strain, barring the 27-year-old from progressing with any mound work. Chase Anderson was asked to start Thursday against the Guardians and with Whitlock still unavailable, Anderson could stay in the rotation for the time being.

Fedde will carry a 2.60 ERA into his next projected start Friday in St. Louis.

The left-hander was able to settle down after the difficult first frame, tossing 4.1 scoreless innings to end his outing. 42m agoHaliburton is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bucks due to back spasms, Jeremiah Johnson of Bally Sports Indiana reports.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl NO PF
Pelicans' Jeremiah Robinson-Earl: Iffy for Monday
1h agoRobinson-Earl is questionable for Monday's Game 4 against the Thunder due to a left ankle sprain.
It's unclear when Robinson-Earl suffered the injury, as he's played only five minutes across the first three games of the opening-round series and didn't see any action during Saturday's Game 3 loss. If Robinson-Earl is ruled out, his absence shouldn't impact the Pelicans' rotation.
-
Zion Williamson NO PF
Pelicans' Zion Williamson: Remains out, but making progress
1h agoWilliamson (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's Game 4 against the Thunder.
There was optimism that Williamson could return at some point in the postseason if New Orleans advanced, and that remains true as coach Willie Green said Sunday morning the superstar forward was cleared for stationary basketball drills, per Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans. However, Williamson still isn't running and remains out while rehabbing a left hamstring strain he suffered during the team's first Play-In Tournament game against the Lakers. The Pelicans season will be on the line Monday, so the positive update on Williamson may be for naught.
-

Jets' Vladislav Namestnikov: Taken to hospital
1h agoNamestnikov (upper body) is being evaluated at the hospital after taking a shot off the head during Sunday's 5-1 Game 4 loss to Colorado, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.
Namestnikov took a Nate Schmidt slapshot off the head in the third period but was able to skate back to the locker room with some assistance, which is a positive sign. The team should have an update on Namestnikov's status after some more testing, but his availability for Game 5 on Tuesday is in doubt at this stage. He had one shot on goal in 10:05 of ice time Sunday.

DeSmith stopped 41 of 45 shots in his two appearances this series and should be considered questionable for Tuesday's Game 5 matchup for the time being.
