3h agoBurrow (wrist) is on the field throwing at Monday's minicamp practice.
Burrow's season ended 27 snaps into Week 11 last season, and he required surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right (throwing) wrist. Earlier in the offseason, Burrow stated he expected to be fully cleared by mid-May, and it appears he's on track. Burrow should be all systems go well in time for training camp later this summer. His weaponry has gone a bit of an overhaul, with Joe Mixon, Tyler Boyd and Irv Smith jettisoned. Veterans Zack Moss and Mike Gesicki were signed as free agents to go along with returnees Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.

3h agoJackson restructured his contract with the Seahawks on Monday to clear roughly $1.89 million in cap space, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson signed a restricted free agent tender with Seattle to re-up with the team early April, but he now boasts a league-minimum base salary of $1.055 million in exchange for a new signing bonus of $167,500. A 2019 fifth-rounder, Jackson played a depth role on cornerback and contributed regularly on special teams across 17 games last season. He lacks a clear path to fantasy relevance in IDP formats, barring a player ahead of him on the depth chart missing time.

Wilson may be a favorite of coach Mike McDaniel, but the 28-year-old nonetheless faces a difficult path to earning a roster spot if the three aforementioned RBs stay healthy this summer. With those three being roster locks, the Dolphins may end up having Wilson, Salvon Ahmed and Chris Brooks competing for one or two spots on the practice squad. Wilson agreed to a contract restructure in March, dropping his base salary to $1.12 million while guaranteeing him $400,000, per Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Jalen Guyton LAC WRRaiders' Jalen Guyton: Links with Las Vegas
5h agoThe Raiders signed Guyton to a contract Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Guyton is coming off a 2023 season in which a leg injury forced him to spend the first eight games on the PUP list, and he ended the next eight contests with a disappointing total of 10 catches on 21 targets for 89 yards and a touchdown. In the past Guyton has been a serviceable deep threat, having put up a career-best 31-448-3 receiving line on 48 targets back in 2021. He'll compete for a depth role behind Davante Adams, Jakobi Meyers and Michael Gallup.

Wan'Dale Robinson NYG WRGiants' Wan'Dale Robinson: Should be in mix for steady targets
5h agoRobinson could challenge for the team lead in targets even though the Giants took Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, according to Dan Salomone and Matt Citak of the team's official website.
The three writers surveyed from Giants.com all agreed Nabers is a favorite to lead the team in targets, with two of the three mentioning Robinson as a candidate to give the rookie a run for his money. A 2022 second-round pick, Robinson got 31 targets on 164 routes (18.9 percent) his rookie year before he suffered an ACL tear, then had 78 looks on 490 routes (15.9 percent) last season. While he's never drawn targets at a particularly high rate, he did have a decent run of production after New York's Week 13 bye last season, averaging 4.8 catches for 52.0 yards over the final five games while taking three carries for 60 yards and a TD. A healthy offseason without rehab from major surgery should help the 23-year-old improve in 2024, though he may still be largely limited to the slot and is both smaller and slower than Nabers. The Giants' other wide receivers -- Darius Slayton, Jalin Hyatt, Isaiah Hodgins, Isaiah McKenzie, etc. -- are all guys that wouldn't be likely to see too many targets even if they got a lot of playing time. Nabers and Robinson mostly figure to work with QB Drew Lock this offseason, as Daniel Jones is still rehabbing from an ACL tear.

Penny's signing is expected to become official after the conclusion of Carolina's rookie minicamp, which ends May 12. The 2018 first-rounder is coming off a forgettable season with Philadelphia, where he was a healthy scratch for all but three contests and spent most of the year operating as the team's fourth running back. With the Panthers, Penny is in line to join a crowded backfield including rookie second-round pick Jonathon Brooks (ACL), who is expected to be ready for training camp, along with veterans Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders.

Freddy Peralta MIL SPBrewers' Freddy Peralta: Beginning five-game suspension
2m agoPeralta began serving his five-game suspension for intentionally throwing at Ray's Jose Siri on April 30.
Peralta initially opted to appeal the league's five-game suspension, but the right-hander elected to drop the appeal following his start against the Cubs on Sunday, per Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. This means Peralta will not end up missing a start and will pitch Saturday against the Cardinals. He has a 3-1 record over seven starts with a 3.49 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 50:15 K:BB over 38.2 innings this season.

Jake Junis MIL RPBrewers' Jakob Junis: Shifted to 60-day IL
5m agoThe Brewers transferred Junis (shoulder/head) to the 60-day injured list Monday.
Junis initially went on the IL back in early April with a right shoulder impingement but had a more recent setback when he was struck in the head by a ball during batting practice. He now won't be eligible to return until early June.

Janson Junk MIL RPBrewers' Janson Junk: Sent back to minors
10m agoThe Brewers optioned Junk to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Junk was roughed up for five runs on 13 hits and one walk over five relief innings in his three relief appearances with the Brewers. He had been mostly starting at Nashville prior to the promotion and could re-enter their rotation.

Kevin Herget MIL RPBrewers' Kevin Herget: Called up by Milwaukee
12m agoThe Brewers selected the contract of Herget from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Herget joined Milwaukee on a minor-league contract March 1. He had not given up a run in nine of his 10 outings with Triple-A Nashville, with his one blemish coming April 30 when he allowed five runs on five hits and a walk over 1.1 innings. Herget will provide the Brewers bullpen depth after right-hander Janson Junk was optioned to Triple-A Nashville.

Ben Brown CHC RPCubs' Ben Brown: Available in relief
12m agoCubs manager Craig Counsell said Monday that Brown will be available out of the bullpen for the series against the Padres, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
It's possible Brown will get another start eventually, but for now he will shift to the bullpen upon the return of Justin Steele (hamstring). That means Hayden Wesneski should retain his spot in the Cubs' rotation for the time being.

15m agoThe Cubs optioned Thompson to Triple-A Iowa on Monday, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Thompson has pitched well overall out of the Cubs' bullpen this season, but he was roughed up in his last two appearances in yielding seven runs (four earned) while recording just three outs. He's being sent out to make room for the return of Justin Steele (hamstring).

1m agoWade (knee) has been ruled out for Tuesday's Game 1 against the Celtics.
Wade hasn't played since March 8 due to a right knee sprain. It's unclear if he'll be cleared at any point during the Eastern Conference Semifinals, but unless Cleveland provides an update, Wade can be considered day-to-day.

Jarrett Allen CLE CCavaliers' Jarrett Allen: Iffy for Game 1
3m agoAllen (ribs) is questionable for Tuesday's Game 1 against the Celtics.
Allen averaged 17.0 points, 13.8 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.0 blocks in 31.8 minutes through the first four games of Cleveland's opening-round series versus the Magic. However, after taking a shot to the ribs from Franz Wagner, the Cavaliers' starting center was sidelined for the final three matchups. Allen was also listed as questionable ahead of all the games he missed, so the tag doesn't provide much optimism heading into the Eastern Conference Semifinals. If Allen gets the green light, he'll look to take advantage of a frontcourt that'll be without Kristaps Porzingis (calf).

This was the expectation when Hardaway made it through practices on Sunday and Monday. While this is great news for Dallas, it will be interesting to see how many minutes he's allotted because he's been struggling mightily with his shot.

4h agoDoncic (knee) is probable for Tuesday's Game 1 against the Thunder, Grant Afseth of SI.com reports.
Doncic also dealt with a knee injury for most of the Mavericks' first-round series but wasn't forced to miss any time. He maintained a high level of production, averaging 29.8 points, 9.5 assists and 8.8 rebounds in 42.5 minutes per game. The 25-year-old should continue to be available for the start of the second round.

4h agoGobert is questionable for Monday's Game 2 against the Nuggets due to personal reasons.
Gobert's partner is due to give birth this month, per Jack Borman of Canius Hoopus, so that's likely the reasoning behind the big man missing the team's morning shootaround. Gobert has the full support of his team, and it's still possible he's able to return in time for the 10 p.m. ET tipoff. However, if Gobert is unavailable, Naz Reid, who had a stellar fourth quarter in Game 1, would be a candidate for increased minutes, but Karl-Anthony Towns would likely start at center.

Swayman was excellent in the first round of the postseason against Toronto, stopping 172 of 181 shots en route to a 4-2 record. Florida ranks third in the playoffs with 4.00 goals per contest.

Head coach Jim Montgomery is "very hopeful" that Carlo will be able to join the team ahead of Monday's second-round opener. The 27-year-old blueliner was with his wife, Mayson, to welcome their baby boy, Crew, into the world Monday morning. Carlo has one goal, one assist, 11 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and 16 hits in seven outings this postseason. If Carlo is unavailable to play in Monday's contest, Derek Forbort could be in the lineup for the first time since March 2 after recovering from an undisclosed injury.

7h agoBobrovsky was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, George Richards of Florida Hockey Now reports, indicating he will patrol the home crease in Game 1 against Boston on Monday.
Bobrovsky surrendered 14 goals on 135 shots against the Lightning en route to a 4-1 record in the first round of the playoffs. He went 0-2-2 against Boston during the 2023-24 regular season, allowing 13 goals on 101 shots. The Bruins rank ninth overall with 2.57 goals per contest this postseason. Boston also sits fourth in power-play percentage after scoring six times on 17 opportunities in the opening round versus Toronto.

18h agoAmadio notched an assist and two hits in Sunday's 2-1 loss to the Stars in Game 7.
Amadio played the final four games of the series after being scratched in favor of Pavel Dorofeyev early on. Amadio had two points, four shots on net, two hits and a plus-2 rating. The 27-year-old is set to be an unrestricted free agent this summer after posting back-to-back 27-point campaigns for Vegas.

William Karlsson LV CGolden Knights' William Karlsson: Plays through injury
18h agoKarlsson played through a lower-body injury during the Golden Knights' first-round playoff series versus the Stars, which concluded with a 2-1 loss in Game 7 on Sunday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
The injury wasn't bad enough to keep Karlsson off the ice, but it was obvious he was struggling, as he was limited to two helpers over seven games. He added nine shots on net, eight hits, five blocked shots and a plus-4 rating from a third-line role. Karlsson was a 60-point contributor in the regular season, and he should fill a middle-six role again in 2024-25.
