3m agoEzukanma (neck) participated in OTAs on Tuesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Ezukanma played in just two games at the beginning of 2023 before being placed on the reserve/non-football injury list in September due to a neck injury. He was cleared of his injury before the end of last season, and he admitted to reporters Tuesday that he was concerned that he would not be able to play again, per Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post. Ezukanma has appeared in three regular season games since joining the Dolphins in 2022.

Kyren Williams LAR RBRams' Kyren Williams: Foot injury downplayed
3h agoWilliams, who is dealing with a foot injury that he sustained while training this spring, per Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register, won't take part in the Rams' offseason program, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
That said, Barshop adds that coach Sean McVay has downplayed Williams' foot issue, noting that it's "nothing to worry about. He'll be ready to go for training camp." As the coming season approaches, the 2022 fifth-rounder remains atop the Rams' RB depth chart, with rookie third-rounder Blake Corum, Boston Scott, Ronnie Rivers and Zach Evans providing the team with backfield depth. Of the aforementioned backups, Corum could be the most notable threat to the 2024 workload of the 5-foot-9, 194-pound Williams.

3h agoFarley (back) practiced Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
Farley missed all of the 2023 season with the injury but seems to have recovered while participating in team drills. Wyatt noted that the 2021 first-round selection "moved well." Farley will likely be competing for slot corner duties, or a depth role, behind Chidobe Awuzie and L'Jarius Sneed.

3h agoTom (pectoral) will be out until training camp, head coach Matt LaFleuer said Tuesday, Zach Kruse of USA Today reports.
It's not clear when or how Tom suffered the injury, but he'll start the Packers' offseason programs on the sidelines. LaFleur stated there was no long-term concern with the injury, and they do expect him to be ready for training camp.

Whyle closed last season on injured reserve, but he was back on the field participating in practice as the Titans held offseason workouts. The 2023 fifth-round selection looked bigger and sturdier than last year, according to Wyatt.

Back in February, Levis -- who was slowed by a foot injury late last season -- relayed that he was close to 100 percent at that time. At this stage, the second-year QB appears to have put the issue behind him, and on Tuesday Levis got in some work with the Titans' top wideouts, a group that includes free-agent additions Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, along with returnees DeAndre Hopkins and Treylon Burks. With veteran RyanTannehill no longer in the mix, Levis approaches the coming season as the team's clear-cut top QB, backed up by Mason Rudolph and Malik Willis. During his rookie season, the Kentucky product completed 149-of-255 passing attempts for 1,808 yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions in nine starts.

12m agoJimenez was removed from Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays with a left hamstring strain.
Jimenez appeared to be limping after scoring from second base during the fifth inning of Tuesday's contest, and Gavin Sheets later replaced him as Chicago's DH during the seventh. The severity of Jimenez's injury remains unclear, but the White Sox will take a closer look at him and should offer more information on his status after the game.

40m agoX-rays on Fraley's right hand came back negative Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Fraley is reportedly dealing with swelling after taking a pitch off his hand during the first inning of Tuesday's contest, but he seems to have avoided a serious injury. The Reds will re-evaluate his hand Wednesday, but it's likely the 28-year-old outfielder sits out a game or two in order to recover.

Kris Bubic KC SPRoyals' Kris Bubic: Excels in first Double-A start
1h agoBubic (elbow) struck out three and allowed one hit and zero walks over three scoreless innings in his rehab start Sunday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
After a trio of abbreviated rehab outings in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Bubic shifted his assignment to the Double-A level over the weekend and was unfazed by higher-caliber competition. He needed just 36 pitches to retire nine batters, doing so while allowing just one baserunner. Bubic's 30-day rehab window will come to a close in the first week of June, but the Royals haven't yet decided what role he'll fill once he's activated from the 60-day injured list. While he looks as though he'll get stretched out for starting duty in the minors, Bubic could have to settle for a long-relief role upon his activation if No. 5 starter Alec Marsh continues to thrive at the back end of the Kansas City rotation.

Matz has been shut down from throwing since receiving a second pain-killing injection in his lower back May 12. The Cardinals haven't set a return timeline for the 32-year-old lefty, though a clearer picture may emerge once he gets back to throwing off a mound.

Drew Rasmussen TB SPRays' Drew Rasmussen: Tosses bullpen session
1h agoRasmussen (elbow) was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday at the Rays' spring training facility, MLB.com reports.
An MLB.com report earlier this month suggested that Rasmussen had been slated to pitch in an extended spring training game May 20, but it's unclear if that actually came to fruition. In any case, Rasmussen's ability to step back on a mound Tuesday represents a positive step forward in his recovery from the internal brace procedure he underwent on his right elbow July 24, 2023. Though the hybrid procedure is designed to accelerate Rasmussen's recovery timeline compared to Tommy John surgery, expect the Rays to ease him along slowly through his throwing program, given that he had previously underwent two Tommy John surgeries earlier in his career. President of baseball operations Erik Neander said in spring training that Rasmussen could be an option to rejoin the big-league pitching staff in the latter months of the 2024 season if all goes well in his rehab program.

1h agoSprings (elbow) was charged with one earned run on three hits while striking out two over one inning in a rehab start Monday with the Rays' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate.
According to MLB.com, Rays manager Kevin Cash that Springs felt good following the rehab start, which was his first appearance in a game setting since he underwent Tommy John surgery April 24, 2023. Cash noted that Springs has one more rehab outing planned with the Rays' FCL affiliate before moving on to Triple-A Durham. Springs should gradually increase his innings and pitch counts in his subsequent minor-league outings, though he'll still likely need the full 30-day rehab window to get ramped up before being deemed ready to return from the 60-day injured list, likely in the final week or two of June.

1h agoPorzingis (calf) won't play in Thursday's Game 2 against the Pacers but could return as soon as Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals on May 27, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Porzingis has already been ruled out for Game 1 on Tuesday and seems set to miss at least the next two games of the series. In Porzingis' absence, Al Horford should continue to start at center for Boston, with Luke Kornet receiving extended playing time off the bench.

Conley continues to deal with a right soleus strain but has suited up in each of Minnesota's last two contests. The veteran guard played 38 minutes in Game 7 against Denver, so he will likely be set for a full workload if he's upgraded to available.

Tillman hasn't been a consistent part of the rotation during the playoffs, appearing in just three matchups and averaging 1.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 8.3 minutes per game. While it's unclear whether he'll be available to begin the Eastern Conference Finals, his status shouldn't significantly impact the rotation.

The Maple Leafs originally drafted Kral under now-Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas, so his addition to the organization shouldn't be a complete surprise. The 24-year-old defenseman had five goals and 37 points in 46 contests with the Pelicans in Finland's top league. He struggled to show that level of offensive upside in previous AHL stints, so fantasy players probably don't need to jump on Kral even in dynasty formats.

5h agoGruden penned a two-year, two-way contract with the Penguins on Tuesday.
Gruden played in just 13 games at the NHL level this season in which he generated one goal on nine shots, 35 hits and five blocks while averaging 8:40 of ice time. At this point, the youngster will be hard-pressed to break into the 23-man roster full-time next season but should see his fair share of call-ups throughout the campaign.

St. Ivany managed just one point in his 14 NHL appearances this season while averaging 13:42 of ice time. The 24-year-old blueliner is likely a long shot to make the 23-man roster for Opening Night this fall but should be atop the list of potential call-ups throughout the year.

Flames' Martin Pospisil: Injured at World Championship
6h agoPospisil suffered an apparent upper-body injury in Slovakia's matchup with Sweden on Monday, Claire Hanna of TSN reports.
Pospisil has been lighting it up at the international tournament with three goals and four assists. In his rookie campaign, the 24-year-old center notched eight goals and 16 helpers despite not having a significant role with the man advantage. Barring a long-term injury, Pospisil should be capable of improving on those numbers in his sophomore campaign.

8h agoMcDonagh was traded to the Lightning from the Predators along with a 2024 fourth-round pick in exchange for a 2025 second-round selection and 2024 seventh-round pick.
McDonagh spent five seasons with the Lightning during his previous stint, logging 267 regular-season games for the club while lifting Lord Stanley's Cup twice during his stay. McDonagh figures to slot into a third pairing for the Lightning. With the acquisition of McDonagh, Tampa Bay is unlikely to re-sign Matt Dumba or Calvin de Haan.

At this point, Lindgren's absences are becoming a concern regarding his availability for Game 1 against the Panthers on Wednesday. If the blueliner does miss any contests, it will likely result in increased ice time for Erik Gustafsson in addition to seeing Zac Jones enter the lineup for the first time since April 7 versus the Habs.
