Daxton Hill CIN DBBengals' Dax Hill: Operating as cornerback in 2024
3h agoHill is expected to be a part of the Bengals' cornerback room in 2024, Jay Morrison of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Hill spent his sophomore campaign operating as a starting safety for the Bengals, recording 110 tackles, including 1.5 sacks, while also intercepting two passes and deflecting 11 others over 17 contests. Head coach Zac Taylor said Sunday that Hill will "be in the cornerback room" this year, which could mean a position change is in store. The team signed former Raven Geno Stone this offseason and could replace Hill at safety in 2024.

Michael Wiley 2005 RBMichael Wiley: Signing with Washington
3h agoWiley (thumb) is slated to sign with the Commanders as an undrafted free agent Sunday, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
Wiley wasn't selected during the 2024 NFL Draft but will have a chance to compete for a role with Washington during offseason activities. He sustained a thumb injury during the Senior Bowl in March, and it's unclear when he'll be back to full health.

4h agoJanke is slated to sign with the Texans as an unrestricted free agent Sunday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 reports.
Janke showed improvement over each of his four seasons at South Dakota State, and he tallied 57 receptions for 946 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing twice for 11 yards and a touchdown in 2023. He'll attempt to make his mark during offseason activities with Houston.

4h agoBecton and the Eagles have agreed on a one-year, $5.5 million contract, pending a physical Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Becton appears to be set to join the Eagles after starting 16 games with the Jets in 2023. The offensive tackle has dealt with multiple significant lower-body injuries in his four-year NFL career, limiting his time on the field, and he'll look to carve out a consistent role with Philadelphia.

Steele began his collegiate career by playing two seasons at Ball State, but he joined UCLA for the 2023 campaign. His production declined with the Bruins, but he still rushed 167 times for 847 yards and six touchdowns while tallying 17 receptions for 163 yards and two touchdowns during his year at UCLA. He'll now spend time with Kansas City during offseason activities.

3m agoClase (1-1) took the loss Sunday against Atlanta, allowing one unearned run on one hit in 0.1 innings of work.
After striking out Ozzie Albies to open up the bottom half of the 10th frame, Clase surrendered a walk-off base hit to Austin Riley to bring home the designated runner. The outing snapped a streak of six consecutive scoreless appearances (six innings) and three straight perfect innings. Still, Clase is tied for the sixth most saves in baseball (8).

8m agoRocchio went 2-for-3 with two runs scored during Sunday's extra-inning loss to Atlanta.
Rocchio provided two of the Guardian's three runs, picking up his first multi-hit game since April 6 (16 games). The 23-year-old has stolen four bases this season and has scored 12 times in 90 plate appearances. However, Rocchio is still chasing his first big-league homer through 48 games and is slashing .215/.292/.304.

14m agoElder didn't factor into the decision Sunday, allowing two runs on four hits and four walks against the Guardians. He struck out two.
Elder came back to earth after a dominant 2024 debut where he held the Marlins scoreless in 6.2 innings. He walked at least four batters for the ninth time in 42 career appearances but was able to keep Cleveland from notching a single extra-base hit. Elder is tentatively scheduled for a start against the Dodgers in LA on Saturday.

28m agoLively didn't factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks against Atlanta. He struck out five.
Lively has yet to allow more than two runs in a start this season. However, he's only gone deeper than five innings in one of his three appearances. He was pulled at 88 pitches (53 strikes) Sunday and didn't give up a home run for the first time all year. In 15.2 innings, Lively owns a 2.30 ERA with a 10.9 K/9, a massive improvement from his 5.38 ERA and 8.0 K/9 from 2023. He's projected for a start against the Angels on Saturday.

Miranda opened the game's scoring with an RBI single in the fourth inning. He later drove in Minnesota's 11th and final run of the game with an RBI double in the eighth. Miranda has collected multiple hits in three straight games, going 7-for-13 (.538) with four extra-base hits in the process. His slash line is up to .292/.320/.500 through 16 games.

Jeffers knocked a double in the fourth inning followed by an RBI single in the fifth. He capped off his day with an RBI sacrifice fly in the eighth. He's collected multiple hits in three of his last five games and Sunday was his second three-hit performance of the year. Jeffers boosted his slash line to .305/.392/.561 with 11 extra-base hits and 17 RBI through 97 plate appearances.

1h agoTurner posted 29 points (10-17 FG, 7-9 3Pt, 2-6 FT), nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks over 38 minutes in Sunday's 126-113 win over the Bucks in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Turner continued his strong performance in the series against Milwaukee, taking advantage of the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) by putting together another well-rounded outing to help Indiana to a commanding 3-1 series lead. Turner led all players in Sunday's contest in threes made while leading the Pacers in scoring, rebounds and blocks in a near double-double showing. Turner has been dominant all series, posting at least 20 points and seven rebounds in three of his four postseason outings.

1h agoHaliburton finished with 24 points (8-16 FG, 5-12 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds four assists and one steal over 32 minutes in Sunday's 126-113 win over the Bucks in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Haliburton followed up his breakout performance in Friday's Game 3 by putting forth another strong outing in Game 4, connecting on a handful of threes while ending as one of two Pacers players with 20 or more points in a winning effort. Haliburton tallied his highest point total of the series against Milwaukee, also connecting on more than three threes for the first time of the playoffs. Look for Haliburton to have another big game in a potential series-clinching Game 5 as he attempts to lead Indiana to the next round.

1h agoSiakam notched 13 points (6-14 FG< 0-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals and one block over 40 minutes in Sunday's 126-113 win over the Bucks in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Siakam has been outstanding for Indiana all series against Milwaukee, posting a well-rounded performance in Sunday's Game 4 while helping the Pacers take a commanding 3-1 series lead. Siakam struggled shooting a bit from the field, but still reached double figures in scoring while ending one rebound and three assists short of a triple-double. Siakam has tallied at least 10 points, eight rebounds and five assists in two games this series, and we should expect him to continue to shine for Indiana in a potential series-clinching Game 5 in Milwaukee.

1h agoBeasley tallied 20 points (8-12 FG, 4-7 3Pt), three rebounds and two assists over 34 minutes in Sunday's 126-113 loss to the Pacers in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Beasley entered the starting lineup Sunday with Damian Lillard (Achilles) being added to Milwaukee's inactive list, connecting on a team-high mark from three while ending three points shy of the 20-point mark in a losing effort. Beasley reached double figures in scoring for the first time of the postseason, connecting on at least three threes in two straight outings. If Lillard is unable to return in a win-or-go-home Game 5, look for Beasley to return to the starting lineup or at least have a large role in the rotation for the Bucks.

Lopez led all Bucks players in scoring in Sunday's loss while connecting on a trio of threes and ending one rebound shy of a double-double in a balanced performance. Lopez has stepped up as the leader in the paint for Milwaukee during the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf), reaching double figures in all four postseason games while finishing with his highest scoring and rebound marks of the series thus far.

Middleton once again tried to do all he could to help lead the shorthanded Bucks past the Pacers in Game 4, leading all players in Sunday's contest in rebounds while handing out a handful of assists and ending as one of three players with 20 or more points in a losing effort. Expect Middleton to continue to try and lead the Bucks in a win-or-go-home Game 5 in Milwaukee, especially if Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) and Damian Lillard (Achilles) are unable to return for the elimination game.

8m agoLauzon notched an assist, two shots on goal, six hits and two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks in Game 4.
Lauzon snapped a 13-game point drought when he set up Mark Jankowski's first-period tally. The 27-year-old Lauzon continues to play in a bottom-four role as a physical presence rather than a scoring threat. He has 19 hits, seven blocked shots and four PIM over four playoff contests after posting 14 points, 388 hits, 111 blocks and 98 PIM over 79 regular-season appearances.

10m agoCarrier picked up an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks in Game 4.
Carrier helped out on a Mark Jankowski goal in the first period. Carrier has a helper in each of the last two games, and he's added two hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over four playoff outings. The 27-year-old continues to fill a top-four role as a mainly defensive presence, so he shouldn't be expected to put up many points.

Ryan McDonagh NSH DPredators' Ryan McDonagh: Notches assist in loss
12m agoMcDonagh produced an assist in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks in Game 4.
The helper was McDonagh's first point in four playoff contests. The 34-year-old has added eight hits, 10 blocked shots, four shots on net and an even plus-minus rating while playing primarily in a top-four role. McDonagh had 32 points over 74 regular-season outings, his best production since 2018-19, but it hasn't carried over to the postseason, and time may be running out for him to find it again with the Predators down 3-1 in their first-round series.

O'Reilly got on the scoresheet for the first time since his Game 1 goal when he set up a Gustav Nyquist tally in the second period. The 33-year-old O'Reilly has added eight shots on net, three blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over four playoff contests. He remains in a top-line role, but the Predators will need more from him now that they're facing elimination.

Josi has two helpers over four playoff contests after closing out the regular season with 24 points over his last 20 games. The 33-year-old has maintained his top-pairing role, contributing eight blocked shots, three hits and six shots on net. Josi will need to step up at both ends of the ice if the Predators are to stave off elimination in Tuesday's Game 5.

Jankowski snapped a nine-game goal drought with his first-period tally, which tied the game at 1-1. The 29-year-old has two points, three shots on net, four hits and a minus-1 rating over four playoff appearances. He shouldn't be expected to produce much offense while playing in a bottom-six role.
