Jared Wiley 2005 TE
Chiefs' Jared Wiley: Depth behind Kelce in KC
4m agoThe Chiefs selected Wiley in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 131st overall.
Travis Kelce isn't going anywhere, but it makes sense for the Chiefs to add some depth behind the 34-year-old future Hall of Famer. Wiley was blocked from being a factor at Texas by fellow draftee, Ja'Tavion Sanders. However, his transfer to TCU in 2022 put him on the map. Wiley caught four touchdowns that season then got more involved as a senior with 47 grabs for 520 yards and eight scores. He has good speed (4.62) for his size (6-6) and will be able to develop behind one of the best to ever do it. Dynasty players should note that Wiley will turn 24 as a rookie, however.

T.J. Tampa 2005 CB
Ravens' T.J. Tampa: Good value for Baltimore
6m agoThe Ravens selected Tampa in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 130th overall.
Tampa is an excellent athlete, as he played wide receiver in high school and also got scholarship offers to play basketball at the collegiate level. He produced well as an upperclassman at Iowa State, posting 19 passes defensed and three picks across his final 24 collegiate games. Tampa is known as a quick corner with good size and was projected to go on Day 2 of the draft. Instead, he'll have the chance to provide late-round value to a Baltimore secondary that was due for some depth -- potentially even finding his way onto the field as a rookie.

Isaac Guerendo 2005 RB
49ers' Isaac Guerendo: Joins loaded San Fran backfield
8m agoThe 49ers selected Guerendo in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 129th overall.
The 49ers traded up in the fourth to acquire Guerendo amid a positional run at running backs. While so many of Guerendo's draft-eligible counterparts saw their value plummet at the combine, the Louisville product posted the fastest 40 time among RBs (4.33) and impressive jumping marks to bolster what was an otherwise incomplete six-year collegiate career. That the 2018 high school recruit was buried behind a number of legitimate NFL caliber running backs at Wisconsin shouldn't scare off fantasy managers, but multiple season-ending soft-tissue injuries should at least raise some red flags. Provided he's able to stay healthy, Guerendo's speed will easily find a way onto the field for San Francisco, even if it's just on a limited basis.
-
Ray Davis 2005 RB
Bills' Ray Davis: Buffalo adds fourth-round runner
9m agoThe Bills selected Davis in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 128th overall.
Davis (5-foot-8, 211 pounds) might not look big but he's a rugged runner with a dense build and the correct lean for managing traffic in the teeth of the defense, making him surprisingly difficult to get a hold off between the tackles. Davis was a high-volume runner for all of Temple, Vanderbilt and Kentucky at various points, in each case carrying the offense despite getting little or no help from the team around him. Davis' strong anchor is supplemented by at least average athleticism (4.52-second 40-yard dash), and he has the pass-catching skills necessary to make a positive impact on passing downs, so he makes himself a viable option for nearly any play call. Of course, incumbent starter James Cook is one of the NFL's most productive pass-catching backs, so Davis is unlikely to see much usage in that specific capacity with Buffalo, but Davis is likely a better power runner than Cook and could steal some looks in short-yardage situations. If the Bills don't add any other running backs, Davis could enter 2024 as one of the most valuable insurance running backs.

Will Shipley 2005 RB
Eagles' Will Shipley: Flies to Philly in Fourth Round
15m agoThe Eagles selected Shipley in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 127th overall.
Those hoping for Shipley to make an immediate impact as a rookie may be disappointed with this selection because the Eagles gave Saquon Barkley a big contract this offseason. Still, Shipley profiles as a solid depth option behind Barkley, who has had durability issues. Shipley starred at Clemson for three years after being ranked as a five-star recruit in high school. He topped out with 210 carries for 1,182 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2022 and was more so part of a committee as a junior. Shipley did not test at the combine due to a knee issue but put down a 4.45 in the 40 at Clemson's Pro Day. He may not be built for workhorse functions but can be a rotational rusher with some pass-catching assignments as well given his 69 receptions on 85 targets in his final two seasons in college. Shipley is a better back right now than Kenneth Gainwell, but that hasn't stopped Philadelphia from giving Gainwell the snaps anyway in the past.
-
Malik Mustapha 2005 CB
49ers' Malik Mustapha: San Francisco adds in fourth round
18m agoThe 49ers selected Mustapha in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 124th overall.
Mustapha (5-foot-10, 209 pounds) is a burly safety out of Wake Forest with a downhill but explosive game, providing not just a physical presence but one that flies in screaming. He might even be comparable to his new teammate Talanoa Hufanga, who has made a mark the last two years as the strong safety in the 49ers defense. The 49ers doubtlessly love Hufanga, but he is returning from a Week 11 ACL tear and is in the last year of his contract. Mustapha, out of Wake Forest, might be the tentative long-term replacement if the 49ers can't find the necessary cap space for a Hufanga extension. If Mustapha can earn a three-down role at some point, he would likely project as a standout IDP option due to his consistent presence in the box.

Dedniel Nunez NYM RP
Mets' Dedniel Nunez: Back with Mets
2m agoThe Mets recalled Nunez from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Nunez allowed one run in two innings during his MLB debut against Atlanta on April 9, and he has thrown 7.1 scoreless frames this season in the minors. He'll return to the big leagues to replace Drew Smith (shoulder), who was placed on the 15-day IL in a corresponding move.
-
Drew Smith NYM RP
Mets' Drew Smith: Lands on IL
6m agoThe Mets placed Smith on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right shoulder inflammation, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Smith allowed two runs in one inning during his last appearance Tuesday, and his shoulder will now keep him out for at least the next two weeks. Dedniel Nunez was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to fill the vacancy in New York's bullpen.
-
Mark Vientos NYM DH
Mets' Mark Vientos: Up from Triple-A
15m agoThe Mets recalled Vientos from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Vientos has slashed .302/.388/.525 across 98 plate appearances in Triple-A, and he'll now join the big-league club as Starling Marte (personal) steps away from the team. Vientos will likely head back to Syracuse following Marte's return.
-
Kyle Bradish BAL SP
Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Set to rejoin rotation
16m agoManager Brandon Hyde said Saturday that Bradish (elbow) is returning to the to the Orioles' rotation, Steve Melewski of MASNSports.com reports.
Bradish's return to the starting rotation couldn't come soon enough for the Orioles with John Means (forearm) and Tyler Wells (elbow) both on the 15-day IL. Bradish made three rehab starts while progressing through a right UCL sprain that landed him on the 15-day injured list at the beginning of the season. He pitched well in his last rehab outing with Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six over five frames, and the 27-year-old is ready to make his next start in the majors. The right-hander could rejoin Baltimore as part of a six-man rotation, with Hyde noting that "everything is up on the table right now."
-
Starling Marte NYM RF
Mets' Starling Marte: Placed on bereavement list
19m agoMarte was placed on the bereavement list Saturday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.
Manager Carlos Mendoza said he expects Marte to be away from the team for three days as he tends to more important matters. Mark Vientos will come up from Triple-A Syracuse to take Marte's spot on the active roster.
-
Jake Fraley CIN RF
Reds' Jake Fraley: Returns to lineup
26m agoFraley (illness) is starting in right field Saturday against the Rangers.
Fraley has missed the Reds' last six games due to an illness, though he was available off the bench Friday. The 28-year-old outfielder has been a key part of Cincinnati's offense this season, slashing .362/.423/.511 across 52 plate appearances.
-
Damian Lillard MIL PG
Bucks' Damian Lillard: Game 4 in doubt
1h agoLillard suffered a strained Achilles in Friday's loss to the Pacers and there is serious doubt over his availability for Game 4 on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Lillard was able to return to Game 3 after suffering the injury and finished the contest with 28 points (6-20 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 12-12 FT), eight assists, three steals and one rebound over 45 minutes. Final confirmation on his status Sunday will presumably come closer to game time. AJ Green, Andre Jackson and Malik Beasley would all be candidates to see increased minutes alongside Patrick Beverley in the backcourt should Lillard indeed need to sit out.
-
Mitchell Robinson NY C
Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Does not practice Saturday
2h agoRobinson (ankle) was a non-participant at Saturday's practice, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.
Robinson was seen wearing a walking boot on his sprained left ankle following an early exit in Thursday's 125-114 loss to the 76ers. He had accumulated two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 FT) and seven rebounds across 12 minutes before leaving. His absence from Saturdays' practice is not a good sign for his status for Sunday's Game 4, but the team has not ruled the big man out. If he ultimately does not get the green light, Precious Achiuwa figures to serve as the primary backup behind Isaiah Hartenstein.
-
Devin Booker PHO SG
Suns' Devin Booker: Delivers eight dimes in Game 3 loss
3h agoBooker accumulated 23 points (8-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 42 minutes during Friday's 126-109 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Booker finished just two assists away from recording a double-double in Game 3, and the star guard will need to be at his best Sunday if the Suns want to avoid getting swept in the first round. Booker's scoring numbers have increased with each passing game in the series, though this was the first time he surpassed the 20-point plateau.
-
Bradley Beal PHO SG
Suns' Bradley Beal: Scores team-high 28 points Friday
3h agoBeal finished Friday's 126-109 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 28 points (10-19 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and four assists in 43 minutes.
Beal led the Suns in scoring Friday, but as has been the case throughout the series, Phoenix simply hasn't been able to hang on with the Timberwolves throughout an entire game, which explains the 0-3 deficit the Suns are currently in right now. This was the first team Beal surpassed the 15-point mark in the series, and the veteran guard will need to keep the momentum going for Game 4 on Sunday if the Suns want to avoid getting swept in the first round.
-
Kevin Durant PHO PF
Suns' Kevin Durant: Puts up 25 points in loss Friday
3h agoDurant had 25 points (8-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four rebounds and five assists across 42 minutes during Friday's 126-109 loss to Minnesota in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Durant bounced back from a subpar showing in Game 2, at least for his lofty standards, and he had a strong showing in Game 3, but once again, his contributions were not enough to lift the Suns to victory as Phoenix fell into an 0-3 deficit. Durant will need to be at his best if the Suns want to avoid the sweep in Game 4 on Sunday. He's averaging 24.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in the series.
-
Rudy Gobert MIN C
Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Efficient performance in Game 3 win
3h agoGobert logged 19 points (6-8 FG, 7-8 FT), 14 rebounds, one assist and one steal over 38 minutes during Friday's 126-109 victory over the Suns in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.
Gobert's scoring numbers have increased with each passing game in the series, though the increased offensive responsibility in Game 3 was directly related to Karl-Anthony Towns being limited with foul trouble. Gobert also has two double-doubles in three games during he current series, averaging 17.0 points and 13.0 boards per contest.
-
Matt Martin NYI LW
Islanders' Matt Martin: Not playing Saturday
1h agoMartin (lower body) won't play Saturday in Game 4 versus Carolina, according to Stefen Rosner of NHL.com.
Martin played through the injury in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Hurricanes, logging just 8:16 of ice time. He has 16 PIM, seven hits and three blocked shots over three outings this postseason. Martin will be replaced in Saturday's lineup by Ruslan Iskhakov.
-
Jeremy Swayman BOS G
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: First off ahead of Game 4
1h agoSwayman was the first goalie off the ice at the morning skate, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports, indicating he will guard the road net Saturday versus Toronto in Game 4.
Swayman is coming off a 28-save performance in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Maple Leafs in Game 3. He has stopped 63 of 66 shots en route to a 2-0 record in the opening round of the postseason. If the Bruins emerge victorious Saturday, the team can take a 3-1 stranglehold in the best-of-seven series.
-
Axel Jonsson-Fjallby WPG LW
Jets' Axel Jonsson-Fjallby: Recalled from Manitoba
2h agoJonsson-Fjallby was recalled from AHL Manitoba on Saturday.
Jonsson-Fjallby had two goals and five points in 26 games with the Jets this year. The 26-year-old winger will likely serve as a depth option for Winnipeg going forward in the postseason.
-
Trevor van Riemsdyk WAS D
Capitals' Trevor van Riemsdyk: Won't play Sunday
2h agoVan Riemsdyk (upper body) will not play in Game Four on Sunday, Bailey Johnson of The Washington Post reports.
Van Riemsdyk took a high hit from Rangers winger Matt Rempe during the first period of Friday's 3-1 loss and was not on the ice for Saturday's skate. The 32-year-old could be replaced by Nick Jensen (upper body) or Rasmus Sandin (upper body) should they be cleared to return, but both remain game-time decisions.
-
Frederik Andersen CAR G
Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Tending twine Saturday
2h agoAndersen will patrol the visiting crease against the Islanders on Saturday, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
Andersen is a perfect 3-0 versus the Islanders in the opening round. He has allowed six goals on 77 shots (.922 save percentage) as the Hurricanes have shut down the Islanders in the series. Andersen was outstanding in the regular season, going 13-2-0 with a 1.84 GAA and a .932 save percentage in 16 appearances.
-
Bobby McMann TOR C
Maple Leafs' Bobby McMann: Nearing return to ice
2h agoPer Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun, McMann (lower body) is getting closer to returning to practice, according to coach Sheldon Keefe.
McMann missed the last two games of the regular season, and will miss his fourth straight playoff game Saturday, after he was injured Apr. 13 versus Detroit. McMann was a huge surprise this season, as he had 15 goals, nine assists and 117 hits in 56 regular-season games. He is still a possible option to return to action for the latter part of the opening round versus the Bruins.
