Raiders' Decamerion Richardson: Las Vegas adds in fourth round
    2m ago

The Raiders selected Richardson in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 112th overall.

Richardson was a two-year starter on a solid Mississippi State pass defense but appears more toolsy than skilled at the moment. Richardson has almost blue chip athletic traits at 6-foot-2, 188 pounds, boasting exceptional reach (32 and 3/8-inch arms) to go with blistering athletic testing (4.34-second 40-yard dash, 128-inch broad jump), but he gave up more catches than someone as athletic as him should at the college level. Indeed, Richardson's high tackle totals (164 in two years) are sooner a concern than an applicable strength, but if Antonio Pierce and company can coach up Richardson then the loud tools could show up more in the form of more incompletions and fewer tackles.

Packers' Evan Williams: Snared by Green Bay
    4m ago

The Packers selected Williams in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 111th overall.

Williams comes from a good background for a defensive back, as he was coached by Dan Lanning at Oregon in his senior season. He's not a big-bodied safety at 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds and his long speed (4.6) will be tested by pass catchers. However, he's a smart player who plays with an edge and stuck his nose in on 82 tackles in 2023. The Packers drafted Georgia safety Javon Bullard on Day 2 so they're likely hoping that he's the one that takes the starting strong safety job, but Williams has the talent to find his way onto the field in some capacity.

Patriots' Javon Baker: Selected by New England
    6m ago

The Patriots selected Baker in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 110th overall.

Baker was a four-star recruit and spent his first two years of college at Alabama. He struggled to get on the field with the Crimson Tide before ultimately transferring to UCF, where he combined to post 108 receptions for 1,936 yards and 12 touchdowns in his last two seasons. Baker's ability to translate to the NFL is in question, as he was a big-play threat in college but posted only mediocre size-adjusted speed at the NFL Combine. Nevertheless, the Patriots lack clarity on their wide receiver depth chart, so Baker could emerge with a bigger role than expected.

Vikings' Khyree Jackson: Scooped in Round 4 by Minnesota
    13m ago

The Vikings selected Jackson in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 108th overall.

Jackson (6-foot-4, 194 pounds) is a highly unusual cornerback prospect both due to his tall, lanky build as well as the strange, winding path his collegiate football career took to this point. Jackson played for Oregon in 2023 but spent his first two years out of high school out of football, only picking back up in the third year after getting a shot in the JUCO ranks. After two years there, Jackson got the attention of Alabama, where he was a backup for two years before finally transferring to Oregon. Now Jackson will be a 25-year-old rookie, and one that might require more development time all the same. If Jackson can fully channel his talent into developing more as a corner, he could prove to be effective in press coverage in particular, as his 32 and 3/4-inch arms make it easy to jab wideouts at the line of scrimmage.

Giants' Theo Johnson: Needed tight end depth for NYG
    14m ago

The Giants selected Johnson in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 107th overall.

With Darren Waller's status for the upcoming season up in the air, targeting tight end made sense for the Giants. Johnson is one of the most athletic tight end prospects in this class with 4.57 speed on a 6-foot-6, 259-pound frame. His combine workout firmly put him in the top five at the position. However, when scouts see those types of workout numbers, they wonder why the on-field production wasn't better. Johnson topped out at 34 catches for 341 yards as a senior, though seven of those catches went for touchdowns. His YPT mark lagged behind, though, checking in at 6.4 in 2023. If Johnson can maximize his tools, he can be an asset in the Giants passing game. If Waller does retire this offseason, Johnson should be on the fantasy radar. However, fantasy managers shouldn't forget the presence of 2022 fourth-rounder Daniel Bellinger as a contender for the starting role.

Falcons' Brandon Dorlus: Another pass rusher for Atlanta
    16m ago

The Falcons selected Dorlus in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 109th overall.

Dorlus led Oregon in sacks last season with 5.0 and had at least one sack in all five collegiate seasons with the Ducks. A multi-time first-team All-Pac-12 pass rusher, Dorlus brings a ton of positional flexibility to an Atlanta defensive line that has routinely struggled to generate pressure without blitzing in recent years.

Marlins' Kyle Tyler: Designated for assignment

The Marlins designated Tyler for assignment Saturday.

A week after being selected from Triple-A Jacksonville, Tyler will now lose his spot on Miami's 40-man roster. He made one appearance during his brief time in the majors, allowing one earned run in two innings during Friday's loss to Washington. Kent Emanuel was selected from Jacksonville in a corresponding move.

Emanuel appeared in one game for the Marlins in early April, allowing four earned runs across three innings out of the bullpen. He's been much more successful since being sent down to the minors, and he'll now get another chance to stick around in Miami as a multi-inning reliever. Kyle Tyler was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Bucks' Damian Lillard: Game 4 in doubt
    2m ago

Lillard suffered a strained Achilles in Friday's loss to the Pacers and there is serious doubt over his availability for Game 4 on Sunday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Lillard was able to return to Game 3 after suffering the injury and finished the contest with 28 points (6-20 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 12-12 FT), eight assists, three steals and one rebound over 45 minutes. Final confirmation on his status Sunday will presumably come closer to game time. AJ Green, Andre Jackson and Malik Beasley would all be candidates to see increased minutes alongside Patrick Beverley in the backcourt should Lillard ultimately have to sit out.

Knicks' Mitchell Robinson: Does not practice Saturday
    37m ago

Robinson (ankle) was a non-participant at Saturday's practice, Ian Begley of SportsNet New York reports.

Robinson was seen wearing a walking boot on his sprained left ankle following an early exit in Thursday's 125-114 loss to the 76ers. He had accumulated two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 FT) and seven rebounds across 12 minutes before leaving. His absence from Saturdays' practice is not a good sign for his status for Sunday's Game 4, but the team has not ruled the big man out. If he ultimately does not get the green light, Precious Achiuwa figures to serve as the primary backup behind Isaiah Hartenstein.

Suns' Devin Booker: Delivers eight dimes in Game 3 loss

Booker accumulated 23 points (8-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and two steals in 42 minutes during Friday's 126-109 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Booker finished just two assists away from recording a double-double in Game 3, and the star guard will need to be at his best Sunday if the Suns want to avoid getting swept in the first round. Booker's scoring numbers have increased with each passing game in the series, though this was the first time he surpassed the 20-point plateau.

Suns' Bradley Beal: Scores team-high 28 points Friday
    2h ago

Beal finished Friday's 126-109 loss to the Timberwolves in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs with 28 points (10-19 FG, 6-11 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and four assists in 43 minutes.

Beal led the Suns in scoring Friday, but as has been the case throughout the series, Phoenix simply hasn't been able to hang on with the Timberwolves throughout an entire game, which explains the 0-3 deficit the Suns are currently in right now. This was the first team Beal surpassed the 15-point mark in the series, and the veteran guard will need to keep the momentum going for Game 4 on Sunday if the Suns want to avoid getting swept in the first round.

  • Kevin Durant PHO PF
Suns' Kevin Durant: Puts up 25 points in loss Friday
    2h ago

Durant had 25 points (8-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four rebounds and five assists across 42 minutes during Friday's 126-109 loss to Minnesota in Game 3 of the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Durant bounced back from a subpar showing in Game 2, at least for his lofty standards, and he had a strong showing in Game 3, but once again, his contributions were not enough to lift the Suns to victory as Phoenix fell into an 0-3 deficit. Durant will need to be at his best if the Suns want to avoid the sweep in Game 4 on Sunday. He's averaging 24.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in the series.

Gobert's scoring numbers have increased with each passing game in the series, though the increased offensive responsibility in Game 3 was directly related to Karl-Anthony Towns being limited with foul trouble. Gobert also has two double-doubles in three games during he current series, averaging 17.0 points and 13.0 boards per contest.
