8h agoJackson said Wednesday that he dropped weight over the offseason in an effort to be more agile in 2024, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Jackson was listed at 215 pounds last season and 225 during the 2022 season. Earlier this month, Jackson indicated he was closer to 205 pounds, but it's unclear if that's his intended playing weight. An even more elusive Jackson would be dangerous to opposing defenses, and adding Derrick Henry and getting Mark Andrews back to full health after his season was derailed by a broken ankle could make the Baltimore offense even more lethal in 2024.

8h agoNwosu (pectoral) participated in OTAs Wednesday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Nwosu suffered a torn pec in Week 7 and missed the remainder of the season. He's already stated he expects to be a full participant for the start of training camp, and the veteran appears to be on track in his recovery. Nwosu tallied a career-best 9.5 sacks in 2022 and inked a three-year, $45 million extension last summer. He'll be counted on to help key Seattle's pass rush in his third season with the team in 2024.

9h agoBaker (wrist) won't participate in OTAs this week, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Baker injured his right wrist in the Dolphins' Week 18 regular-season finale against the Bills and is still recovering after undergoing surgery. The 27-year-old linebacker inked a one-year deal with Seattle earlier in the offseason and will help replace the losses of Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner in the middle of the defense.

The veteran safety tore his ACL last summer and missed the entire 2023 campaign after he was acquired from the Ravens last March. Clark re-signed with New York on a one-year deal this offseason and should have a chance to win a starting job in the Jets secondary.

9h agoThe Falcons waived Fisk (undisclosed) with an injury designation Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Fisk appeared in six games for the Falcons last season, seeing action on 72 offensive snaps and catching his only target for nine yards. The 25-year-old will land on injured reserve if he clears waivers, and there's a chance he's later cut with an injury settlement.

6h agoChisholm went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Brewers.
Chisholm clubbed a leadoff homer in the first inning off Freddy Peralta, a long ball that ended up being the difference. In his last 16 games, Chisholm is batting .308 with three home runs, 13 runs and four stolen bases. The 26-year-old is one of seven players with at least seven long balls and nine stolen bases, joining Elly De La Cruz, Bobby Witt, Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Kyle Tucker on the exclusive list.

6h agoBailey went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 9-5 extra-inning win over the Pirates.
This was Bailey's first start since he was activated from the concussion injured list Tuesday. He appeared off the bench in that contest, going 0-for-1. Bailey went on the IL twice due to the concussion, but he looks to have the all-clear this time and should resume a starting role behind the plate over Curt Casali. Bailey is slashing .295/.350/.466 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 12 runs scored, six doubles and one stolen base across 101 plate appearances this season.

Freddy Peralta MIL SPBrewers' Freddy Peralta: Bounces back against Marlins
6h agoPeralta (3-3) took the loss Wednesday against Miami, allowing one run on four hits and a walk across seven innings. He struck out seven.
Peralta was locked into a pitcher's duel with Jesus Luzardo, with a leadoff home run by Jazz Chisholm in the first inning being enough to push Peralta into the loss column. Still, fantasy managers saw the dominant version of Peralta that garnered early Cy Young consideration before his ERA ballooned from 1.90 on April 19 to 4.17 before Wednesday's outing. Through the ups and downs, Peralta's strikeout production has maintained, with 71 K's across 56.2 innings on the year. The 28-year-old is lined up to pitch Monday against the Cubs at American Family Field.

LaMonte Wade SF 1BGiants' LaMonte Wade: Gets aboard six times Wednesday
6h agoWade went 3-for-3 with three walks, one RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 9-5 extra-inning win over the Pirates.
This was Wade's first three-hit game of the year, as well as his second three-walk effort. It's arguably the best example of what he's brought to the table in 2024 -- decent contact hitting and remarkable patience at the plate. Wade is batting .340 with a 19:12 BB:K over 19 games in May. For the season, the first baseman is at a .336/.484/.431 slash line with two home runs, 16 RBI, 20 runs scored, five doubles and one stolen base over 153 plate appearances. Wade briefly saw a full-time role earlier in the month when Jorge Soler was on the injured list, but since Soler's return, Wade has returned to a strong-side platoon with Wilmer Flores at first base.

Ryan Walker SF RPGiants' Ryan Walker: Picks up fourth win
6h agoWalker (4-2) pitched a perfect inning and struck out one, earning the extra-inning win over the Pirates on Wednesday.
Walker kept the game tied in the ninth inning, and the Giants' offense exploded in the 10th to make him the pitcher of record. The right-hander has stumbled a little recently, allowing two runs over his last five innings, but he also has a 7:0 K:BB and three holds in that span. Walker is getting the job done with a 2.42 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 36:4 K:BB over 26 innings this season. He's added seven holds and one blown save while not seeing a lot of late-inning work, but his elite strikeout numbers make him an interesting option in all NL-only formats and some deeper mixed leagues as well.

Nelson Velazquez KC DHRoyals' Nelson Velazquez: Knocks homer
6h agoVelazquez went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Tigers.
Velazquez had sat out the previous two games, suggesting he could be losing some playing time versus right-handed pitchers. He looked solid against Tigers lefty ace Tarik Skubal, taking him deep in the fourth inning. Velazquez is barring a meager .224 (11-for-49) in May, but he's hit two homers and driven in five runs over his last five games. The outfielder is slashing .226/.295/.368 with four homers, 13 RBI, 20 runs scored, one stolen base and seven doubles over 146 plate appearances this season. He's struggled to consistently tap into power as he did with 17 homers over 53 games a year ago, so it's possible Velazquez could continue to lose playing time to Adam Frazier or Freddy Fermin if he can't turn things around.

10h agoConley (Achilles) is part of the starting lineup for Wednesday's Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against Dallas.
Conley will play through a strained right soleus for a third straight game and will slot into his usual starting point guard role. In four regular-season games against the Mavericks this season, Conley averaged 10.8 points, 4.8 assists and 2.3 rebounds.

11h agoDoncic (knee/ankle) will play in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Timberwolves.
Doncic has been a regular on the injury report as he deals with lingering soreness in his left ankle and a sprained right knee. Even though he's banged up, Doncic played at least 40 minutes in all six games against OKC in the Western Conference Semifinals and closed out the series with three straight triple-doubles.

13h agoTillman (personal) is questionable for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers on Thursday, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.
Tillman missed the Celtics' 133-128 overtime win in Game 1 due to the personal matter. While he could rejoin the Celtics in advance of Thursday's contest, his presence -- or lack thereof -- shouldn't have a major impact on head coach Joe Mazzulla's rotation. Tillman has appeared in just three games all postseason -- all in blowouts -- as Al Horford and Luke Kornet have covered most of the minutes at center while Kristaps Porzingis (calf) has been sidelined for each of the Celtics' last seven contests.

19h agoPritchard logged eight points (3-4 FG, 2-3 3Pt) and two assists over 23 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime win over the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
The Celtics are using a very tight eight-man rotation right now, but Pritchard is pretty clearly the sixth man for the foreseeable future. He's been excellent through 11 playoff appearances, averaging 7.8 points, 2.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds while hitting 47.0 percent from the field and 44.7 percent from beyond the arc.

19h agoBrown contributed 26 points (10-20 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-8 FT), seven rebounds, five assists, one block and three steals across 44 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime victory over the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
This was a great response from Brown after he was held to 11 points in the final game of the previous series against the Cavaliers. He's been terrific for most of the playoffs, to be fair, as he's hitting 54.8 percent from the field while averaging 23.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

19h agoTatum amassed 36 points (12-26 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 10-12 FT), 12 rebounds, four assists and three steals in 46 minutes during Tuesday's 133-128 overtime win over Indiana in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Everyone knows what Tatum can do offensively, and he's now scored at least 33 points in three of his last four games. However, it was his defense on Tyrese Haliburton that was ultimately the difference in this game. Tatum was clutch in overtime, and Boston will now head into Game 2 with a ton of momentum.

Stuart Skinner EDM GOilers' Stuart Skinner: Between pipes for Game 1
18h agoSkinner will tend the twine on the road in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Stars on Thursday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.
Skinner has faced less than 20 shots in each of his last four appearances, posting a 3-1 record to go with a 2.66 GAA and .848 save percentage over that stretch. Despite being benched for Games 4 and 5 of the Oilers' second-round series versus Vancouver, the 25-year-old backstop was able to reclaim the starting role from Calvin Pickard for the final two games of the best-of-seven series. Skinner will likely remain the preferred choice in net for Edmonton during the Western Conference Finals.

19h agoBobrovsky will get the starting nod on the road against the Rangers in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Bobrovsky is sporting a 2.37 GAA and .902 save percentage in 11 postseason contests. The netminder is certainly getting plenty of offensive support, as the Panthers are scoring 3.55 goals per game in the postseason, the most of any team remaining in the playoffs. It figures to be a clash of backstops, as Bobrovsky will be squaring off with Igor Shesterkin on the other side.

19h agoShesterkin is expected to guard the home goal against Florida in Game 1 on Wednesday.
Shesterkin has led the Rangers to the Eastern Conference Finals by posting an 8-2 record, 2.40 GAA and .923 save percentage in 10 playoff appearances this year. However, the 28-year-old goaltender has allowed at least three goals in each of his past three starts. Florida has excelled offensively in the postseason, averaging 3.55 goals per contest, so the Panthers are expected to be a challenging adversary for Shesterkin.

Ryan Lindgren NYR DRangers' Ryan Lindgren: Set to play in Game 1
19h agoLindgren (undisclosed) is good to play in Game 1 against Florida on Wednesday, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today.
Lindgren's availability was put into question Tuesday because he stayed off the ice for a third straight day for maintenance reasons. It's possible the 26-year-old is playing through something, but it seems whatever that might be isn't enough to keep him out of the lineup. Lindgren has one assist, four PIM, 13 hits and 12 blocks in 10 playoff contests this year while averaging 20:36 of ice time.

Martin Pospisil CGY CFlames' Martin Pospisil: Will miss rest of Worlds
19h agoPospisil (upper body) will miss the remainder of the 2024 IIHF World Championship, per Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun.
Pospisil was doing phenomenal at the tournament, providing three goals and seven points in seven games with Team Slovakia, but he sustained the injury during Monday's contest versus Sweden. The severity of his injury isn't known yet, so it's not clear if Pospisil's offseason training or availability for the start of the 2024-25 campaign will be impacted. The 24-year-old recorded eight goals, 24 points, 107 PIM and 238 hits in 63 contests with Calgary as a rookie in 2023-24.

Filip Kral TOR DPenguins' Filip Kral: Signs one-year contract
2d agoKral inked a one-year, two-way deal with Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
The Maple Leafs originally drafted Kral under now-Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas, so his addition to the organization shouldn't be a complete surprise. The 24-year-old defenseman had five goals and 37 points in 46 contests with the Pelicans in Finland's top league. He struggled to show that level of offensive upside in previous AHL stints, so fantasy players probably don't need to jump on Kral even in dynasty formats.
