4m agoThe Texans have issued a statement relaying that Dell -- who sustained a minor wound as the result of a shooting in Florida on Saturday night -- has been released from the hospital and is in good spirits.
Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston, Dell is expected to make a full recovery from the wound he sustained during Saturday night's incident at a nightclub in Sanford, Fla. Dell is coming off a 2023 regular-season in which he recorded a 47/709/7 receiving line in 11 games prior to sustaining a season-ending broken fibula Dec. 3.

1h agoCephus is in line to sign with the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Cephus, who spent five years with UTSA, is coming off a 2023 campaign in which he recorded a school-record 1,151 receiving yards with 10 touchdowns on 89 catches in 13 games en route to earning first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors, Greg Luca of the San Antonio Express-News reports. With Jacksonville, the 6-2, 189-pounder has plenty of competition for a roster spot, but Cephus could potentially land a depth role or practice squad slot with a strong training camp/offseason.

2h agoRosemy-Jacksaint is in line to sign with the Commanders as an undrafted free agent, according to Greg Auman of Fox Sports.
This past season, his fourth with Georgia, Rosemy-Jacksaint caught 34 passes for 535 yards and four TDs in 13 games. With Washington, the 6-foot-1, 195-pounder is slated to have an opportunity to compete for a depth role behind top returning WR options Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson.

Small, who played his college ball with the Tennessee Volunteers, is thus in line to compete for a depth role in a Titans backfield that is currently led by Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears. This past season, Small worked behind 2024 fourth-rounder Jaylen Wright, carrying 95 times for 475 yards and two TDs, while adding seven catches in 11 games.

15h agoThe Vikings could begin the season with Darnold as the team's starting quarterback despite taking J.J. McCarthy with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, ESPN reports. "We're not going to rush his development," said general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. "We're just going to do what's best for the Vikings in the short and long term."
Darnold signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Vikings as a short-term veteran starter or backup. It's hard to handicap when McCarthy may take over the starting job this soon after the draft, but it's notable the Vikings are trying to reduce expectations. Expect the quarterback battle for the Week 1 starting job to commence this summer. Still, odds are Darnold will only be the starter for a few weeks at most if McCarthy is healthy and making progress.

After four years at Arkansas, Knox transferred to South Carolina for his fifth-year senior season. He compiled a 37-312-2 receiving line for the Gamecocks. He switched positions from wide receiver to tight end in 2021. Knox joins a tight end room that includes T.J. Hockenson, Josh Oliver, Johnny Mundt and Nick Muse in Minnesota.

Little surrendered five runs over two-thirds of an inning Saturday and will be demoted in favor of some fresh arms. Daniel Palencia and Richard Lovelady are joining the Cubs as Jordan Wicks (forearm) heads to the injured list.

The 24-year-old was sent down by Chicago on April 17 but will rejoin the big club for Sunday's series finale in Boston. Palencia has made three MLB appearances this season and has given up four earned runs with a 5:7 K:BB over six innings.

The 24-year-old collided with Alexander Canario after making a running catch in the outfield Saturday but is apparently no worse for wear. Morel had a 1-for-32 slump over nine contests in mid-May, but his bat has come alive over his past six games with a .781 OPS.

26m agoKimbrel was removed from Sunday's game against the A's due to an apparent injury, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
The veteran right-hander allowed a walk and a two-run homer to the only batters he faced before exiting the contest with an athletic trainer. It's the second straight blown save for Kimbrel after converting seven straight saves, and the specifics of his injury remain unclear. Yennier Cano is the likely favorite to fill in at closer should Kimbrel be forced to miss any time.

30m agoWicks was placed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a strained left forearm, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports.
The left-hander was scratched from Sunday's start in Boston due to the injury and will be sidelined for at least the next couple weeks. Hayden Wesneski will start in his place and could remain in the rotation while Wicks is out.

42m agoHicks said he experienced a bit of side tightness during his start against the Pirates on Saturday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Hicks apparently felt the tightness following the sixth inning, though he still briefly came out for the seventh before being pulled after giving up a leadoff single. The right-hander is apparently fine, but it's still worth keeping an eye on his status heading into his next turn through the rotation, which lines up for next weekend in Philadelphia.

Brunson went to the locker room following the final play of the third quarter after appearing to bang knees with Kyle Lowry. Brunson was only in the locker room for a few minutes before being cleared to return. He's been stellar for the Knicks in Game 4, posting 38 points (15-26 FG) and 10 assists through three quarters.

Brunson has been stellar for the Knicks in Game 4, posting 38 points (15-26 FG) and 10 assists in 34 minutes, so his potential absence in the fourth quarter could be costly. The severity of the injury remains unclear, but Miles McBride figures to get plenty of run in Brunson's absence.

Doncic briefly left Game 3 due to right knee soreness and was listed as questionable for Game 4, but there's been no mention of any restrictions for the MVP candidate. Across the first three games of the opening-round series, Doncic averaged 29.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.3 steals in 42.7 minutes.

Bogdanovic played just one minute before suffering a left foot contusion and didn't record any counting stats. He is also dealing with ligament damage in his left wrist but was expected to play through that injury. Bogdanovic's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday when the series shifts back to New York for Game 5.

With Kawhi Leonard (knee) sidelined, Coffey drew a start in Game 1 and posted six points and three rebounds in 25 minutes. He moved back to the bench for Games 2 and 3, but Leonard has been shut down again after a pair of subpar performances. Across 13 regular-season starts, Coffey averaged 11.8 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 28.8 minutes per game.

Bogdanovic played just one minute and didn't record any counting stats before suffering the injury with 11:41 remaining in the second quarter. The sharpshooter has been playing through left wrist ligament damage during the opening-round series, and he's struggled to make an impact, averaging only 8.0 points in 16.3 minutes over the first three games.

1h agoHague (lower body) isn't expected to play Monday in Game 4 versus Dallas, according to Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Hague, who hasn't resumed skating yet, is poised to miss his third straight contest. He supplied four goals, 17 points, 72 shots on net and 165 blocked shots in 55 appearances during the regular season. Alec Martinez will probably remain in the lineup for Game 4 due to Hague's absence.

DeSmith stopped 41 of 45 shots in his two appearances this series and should be considered questionable for Tuesday's Game 5 matchup for the time being.
