Izaiah Gathings KC WR
Izaiah Gathings: Cut by Kansas City
2h agoThe Chiefs waived Gathings on Saturday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Gathings inked a reserve/future deal with Kansas City back in February after being part of the team's practice squad for nearly two months to close out the 2023 campaign. He's yet to play in a regular-season game.
-
Jacob Copeland KC WR
Jacob Copeland: Cut by Kansas City
2h agoThe Chiefs waived Copeland on Saturday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.
Undrafted out of Maryland last year, Copeland signed a reserve/future deal with Kansas City back in January, but the team now needs his roster spot for the latest wave of undrafted signees. Copeland has yet to appear in an NFL game.

Dorian Thompson-Robinson CLE QB
Browns' Dorian Thompson-Robinson: Will have followup MRI on Monday
2h agoThompson-Robinson (hip) will undergo an MRI on Monday and is expected to participate in minicamp next week, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.
DTR suffered a hip subluxation against the Texans on Christmas Eve and was ruled out for the remainder of the Browns' season. His most recent MRI in March revealed progress in his rehab, and Thompson-Robinson is hoping the latest one this upcoming week will allow him to get the green light to do some on-field work with the team's rookies and fellow younger players. The Browns signed veteran QBs Jameis Winston and Tyler Huntley in the offseason, so DTR is facing stiff competition for backup duties behind Deshaun Watson.

Rasheen Ali BAL RB
Ravens' Rasheen Ali: Right on schedule
3h agoAli (biceps) is participating in some of the Ravens' minicamp drills and is expected to be fully recovered ahead of training camp, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
The rookie fifth-round pick ruptured his biceps tendon at the Senior Bowl back in late January, but the Marshall product is expected to be fully recovered ahead of Baltimore's training camp in August. Ali is poised to compete for a pivotal role in the backfield with J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) and Gus Edwards both with the Chargers and Keaton Mitchell (knee) still recovering after tearing his ACL in December.

Rasheen Ali BAL RB
Ravens' Rasheen Ali: Hopeful for training camp
5h agoHead coach John Harbaugh indicated Saturday that he expects Ali (biceps) to be good to go in time for training camp, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Ali ruptured his biceps tendon at the Senior Bowl, but he was still selected by the Ravens in the fifth round of this year's draft. The intriguing prospect had multiple 1,000-yard seasons with Marshall, but he also missed nearly the entire 2022 campaign due to an MCL injury. When healthy, he projects to compete for a role providing depth in Baltimore's backfield behind Derrick Henry.

Ro Torrence 2005 CB
Seahawks' Ro Torrence: Lands with Seahawks
23h agoSeattle signed Torrence to a contract Friday, Howard Balzer of GoPHNX.com reports.
Torrence wasn't selected in the NFL Draft in late April but will get a shot to make his case for a roster or practice-squad spot after signing with the Seahawks. The 6-foot-3 defensive back played the final two seasons of college with Arizona State and totaled 37 tackles (including 2.0 sacks) along with an interception in 2023. Torrence allowed just 20 receptions in coverage last season, the lowest total among Pac-12 cornerbacks with at least 300 snaps played in coverage during the regular season.

Tom Murphy SF C
Giants' Tom Murphy: Exits with apparent knee injury
1m agoMurphy was removed from Saturday's game versus the Phillies in the second inning with an apparent knee injury, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Murphy looked to tweak his knee as he chased down a wild pitch. The Giants already put Patrick Bailey on the 7-day concussion injured list earlier Saturday and now may have lost another catcher. Blake Sabol -- who was recalled to replace Bailey on the roster -- took over behind the dish for Murphy on Saturday.
-
Kevin Kiermaier TOR CF
Blue Jays' Kevin Kiermaier: Returns from IL with homer
32m agoKiermaier went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Nationals.
Activated from the injured list earlier in the day following a minimum absence with a hip injury, Kiermaier took reliever Derek Law deep in the eighth inning to extend the Blue Jays' lead. It was his first longball of the season and just his third extra-base hit. Kiermaier finished last season with an above-average 104 OPS+, but for fantasy purposes he remains more of an AL-only play.

Lance McCullers HOU SP
Astros' Lance McCullers: Throws light bullpen session
43m agoMcCullers (forearm) threw a light bullpen session Saturday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.
McCullers had previously done some throwing from the front slope of the mound, but this was his first time throwing from the top of the bump since he had surgery last June to repair the flexor tendon and remove a bone spur from his forearm. It's a big step, but McCullers is still at least a month away from a rehab assignment, with a return to the Astros hopefully by July if all goes well.

Logan O'Hoppe LAA C
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Exits game with hand contusion
1h agoO'Hoppe was removed from Saturday's game against the Guardians with a right hand contusion, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
O'Hoppe took a foul tip off his throwing hand in the bottom of the fourth inning. He initially remained in the game -- striking out in the top of the fifth -- before exiting prior to the bottom of the fifth. X-rays came back negative, so O'Hoppe can safely be called day-to-day. With an afternoon game coming Sunday, he would seem to be a safe bet to miss at least that contest.
-
Steven Kwan CLE LF
Guardians' Steven Kwan: Leaves game with hamstring injury
1h agoKwan was lifted from Saturday's game against the Angels due to left hamstring tightness, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.
Kwan looked to tweak his hamstring while chasing down a flyball in the top of the third inning and was removed prior to the top of the fourth. It's not clear at this point whether he might require an MRI, but the Guardians figure to offer an update on his condition after the game.
-
Jake Irvin WAS SP
Nationals' Jake Irvin: Doomed by rough first inning
1h agoIrvin (2-3) was saddled with a loss Saturday versus the Blue Jays, permitting four runs (zero earned) on five hits and a walk over five innings. He struck out four.
Irvin needed 32 pitches to get through the first inning, thanks in large part due to a pair of errors committed behind him. The silver lining is all four of the runs the Jays scored in the opening frame were unearned, so he watched his ERA on the season drop from 4.28 to 3.72. Irvin mostly settled in after that but still required a season-high 107 pitches to cover his five innings. The righty has walked just eight guys in seven starts this season, showing immensely improved control after he issued free passes at a 10.2 percent clip in 2023. His next start is lined up to come in Boston.

Jamal Murray DEN PG
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Will play in Game 1
2h agoMurray (calf) will play in Game 1 against the Timberwolves on Saturday, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports.
Murray went through his usual warmup for Game 1 and completed it with no setbacks, so the star floor general will be available to handle his regular workload in the series opener against Minnesota. Murray was stellar in the first round against the Lakers, hitting two game-winning shots and averaging 23.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 7.2 assists per game.
-
Craig Porter Jr. CLE PG
Cavaliers' Craig Porter: Out again Sunday
3h agoPorter (ankle) will not play in Sunday's Game 7 against the Magic.
This will be the seventh game in a row on the shelf for Porter, and he remains without a timetable for a return.
-
Jarrett Allen CLE C
Cavaliers' Jarrett Allen: Questionable for Game 7
3h agoAllen (ribs) is questionable to play in Sunday's Game 7 against the Magic.
Allen has missed the last two games of the series while dealing with a rib injury, and the questionable tag doesn't shed a lot of light regarding his potential availability for the series finale. The Cavaliers need Allen to be at his best, though, as he's an influential piece of the team on both ends of the court. Allen is averaging 17.0 points, 13.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game in the first-round series against Orlando through four appearances.
-
Gary Harris ORL SG
Magic's Gary Harris: Questionable for Game 7
3h agoHarris (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's Game 7 against the Cavaliers.
After suffering his hamstring injury in Game 5, Harris missed his first game of the series on Friday in Game 6. If the veteran is unable to suit up Sunday, Jonathan Isaac could potentially make another start due to his defensive versatility.
-
Jamal Murray DEN PG
Nuggets' Jamal Murray: Expected to play Saturday
3h agoDenver coach Michael Malone said he expects Murray (calf) to play in Saturday's Game 1 versus Minnesota, but he remains a game-time call, Brendan Vogt of TheDNVR.com reports.
Murray will go through his usual warmup for Game 1, and if he gets through it without any setbacks, he should be all set to take the court. Murray was terrific in the previous round against the Lakers, posting 23.6 points and 7.2 assists per game.
-
Lonzo Ball CHI PG
Bulls' Lonzo Ball: Picks up option for 2024-25
4h agoBall (knee) has picked up the $21.4 million player option in his contract for the 2024-25 season, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Ball continues to work toward a potential comeback before he hits the open market next summer, as he signed an original four-year, $80 million free agent deal in 2021, so it was a no-brainer for him to pick up this option. Ball hasn't logged minutes at the NBA level since Jan. 2022, but both the player and the organization are hopeful he'll be able to step on the hardwood at some point during the 2024-25 campaign.
-
Auston Matthews TOR C
Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews: Good to play in Game 7
31m agoMatthews (illness) will draw into the lineup for Game 7 versus the Bruins on Saturday, per Jonas Siegel of The Athletic.
Matthews missed the last two games due to an undisclosed injury, according to Emily Kaplan of ESPN, after exiting Game 4 due to an illness. The 26-year-old forward has a goal, three points and 17 shots in four playoff outings this year. Matthews was immensely important to the Leafs' offense during the regular season, providing 69 goals and 107 points across 81 appearances. He should see time on the top power-play unit even though he will start Saturday's contest alongside Pontus Holmberg and Calle Jarnkrok at even strength.
-
Ilya Samsonov TOR G
Maple Leafs' Ilya Samsonov: Thrust into service for Game 7
37m agoSamsonov is expected to start on the road in Game 7 against Boston on Saturday, per Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Samsonov has struggled in the first round, allowing 12 goals on 103 shots (.883 save percentage) over four outings, which led to him being pulled in favor of Joseph Woll during Game 4. Although Toronto still lost that contest 3-1, which gave Boston a 3-1 series lead, the 25-year-old Woll would start in Games 5 and 6, earning two straight wins while saving 49 of 51 shots. However, Woll is dealing with an injury, so the Leafs will have to put their hopes in Samsonov for the deciding tilt of the series.
-
Danton Heinen BOS C
Bruins' Danton Heinen: Not playing Saturday
37m agoHeinen (undisclosed) won't play in Saturday's Game 7 versus the Maple Leafs, Joe Haggerty of Boston Sports Journal reports.
Heinen will miss his second straight game with the injury, though he was labeled a game-time decision earlier Saturday by head coach Jim Montgomery. If Heinen is to play again this postseason, the Bruins will need to win Saturday.
-
Joseph Woll TOR G
Maple Leafs' Joseph Woll: Unavailable Saturday
40m agoWoll (undisclosed) won't be in the lineup for Game 7 against Boston on Saturday.
Woll was injured late in Toronto's 2-1 win over the Bruins on Thursday in Game 6. He has stopped 49 of 51 shots en route to winning the past two outings. With Woll out, Martin Jones will serve as Ilya Samsonov's backup in Saturday's contest.
-
Jeremy Swayman BOS G
Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Gets Game 7 nod
41m agoSwayman will protect the home goal versus the Maple Leafs on Saturday in Game 7, Conor Ryan of The Boston Globe reports.
Swayman will make his fifth straight start despite losing his last two games. During the first round, Swayman has been excellent despite a lack of goal support in recent games. He's given up just eight goals on 150 shots over five appearances.
-
Nicolas Hague LV D
Golden Knights' Nicolas Hague: Out for Game 7
7h agoHague (lower body) won't play in Game 7 against Dallas on Sunday, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Hague hasn't played since suffering the injury late in Game 1. The 25-year-old blueliner went scoreless in his final 20 regular-season contests this year -- he finished with two goals and 12 over 73 outings. Alec Martinez and Zach Whitecloud should round out Vegas' defensive corps while Hague is sidelined.
