  • Kiran Amegadjie 2005 OT
Bears' Kiran Amegadjie: Headed home to Chicago
    3m ago

The Bears selected Amegadjie in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 75th overall.

A Chicago native out of noted football factory, Yale, Amegadjie is an impressive prospect with a legitimate chance to make the leap to NFL stardom. At 6-foot-5 and 323 pounds with 36-inch arms, Amegadjie has the size and length to stick at tackle on paper. He dominated Ivy League competition but the NFL will be a big step up. He will be just 22 years old for his entire rookie season and thus the Bears will not need to rush him onto the field if the starting unit stays intact. In time, look for Amegadjie to challenge for tackle reps in the Windy City.

Cowboys' Cooper Beebe: Heading to Big D
    9m ago

The Cowboys selected Beebe in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 73rd overall.

Taking offensive linemen from Kansas State is rarely a bad idea and Beebe is the latest one to make it to the league with immense potential. He had second-round grade by many scouts thanks to his All-American-level play for his final two years in the Little Apple. Beebe is squat and strong at 6-foot-3 and 322 pounds with a mean streak. His immediate projection is difficult to figure given the Cowboys' depth at guard, but he should be the heir apparent to the 33-year-old Zack Martin.

Giants' Andru Phillips: New York selects in third round
    9m ago

The Giants selected Phillips in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 70th overall.

Phillips (5-foot-11, 190 pounds) is a bit smallish for a corner and lacks the conventional reach for press coverage (31 and 1/4-inch arms), but the former Kentucky standout is a very springy athlete with some of the best jumps over many classes (42-inch vertical, 135-inch broad jump). Phillips projects as the Giants' third corner behind Deonte Banks and Cor'Dale Flott.

  • Isaiah Adams 2005 IOL
Cardinals' Isaiah Adams: Lands with Arizona
    16m ago

The Cardinals selected Adams in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 71st overall.

Arizona is starting to have the makings of a solid offensive line with its investments there since 2023. Adams joins the group with a varied background from his time at Illinois where he played left guard and right tackle. With the current depth chart and Adams' experience at guard, moving inside is his likely destination for Arizona. Adams will turn 24 over the summer and is not a standout athlete but his technical skills will help him get on the field this season.

Patriots' Caedan Wallace: New England adds in third round
    17m ago

The Patriots selected Wallace in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 68th overall.

Although he was overshadowed by teammate and fellow tackle Olu Fashanu, Wallace was a standout right tackle for Penn State and looks like a fine pickup for New England this late. Wallace (6-foot-5, 314 pounds) should have a good shot to emerge as an average or better starter at either guard or tackle, and like seemingly all Penn State prospects Wallace is an excellent athlete (31-inch vertical, 116-inch broad jump).

Chargers' Junior Colson: Links up with college coach in LA
    21m ago

The Chargers selected Colson in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 69th overall.

The Michigan linebacker reunites with his college coach at the NFL level. There were strong arguments for Colson as the best off-ball linebacker in this class thanks to his strong tackling ability and sideline-to-sideline speed. Colson accrued 196 tackles over his final two seasons in Ann Arbor and checks in as one of the bigger middle linebackers in this draft at 6-foot-2 and 238 pounds. He is tenacious and was tasked with making the on-field adjustments for an elite Michigan defense. Look for Colson to make an immediate impact in the middle of the Charger defense.

Diaz was removed from Friday's game against the White Sox after getting hit by a pitch, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

  • Dominic Canzone SEA LF
Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Throwing and running
    20m ago

Canzone (shoulder) began a throwing and running program Friday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

General manager Justin Hollander added that the team hopes for Canzone to begin a hitting progression sometime next week, though he is still several weeks out from full baseball activities. The 26-year-old outfielder sprained the AC joint in his left shoulder April 14, and Hollander's comments suggest he is not close to returning anytime soon. Luke Raley and Jonatan Clase should continue splitting time in left field while Canzone works his way back.

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Likely won't return when eligible
    1h ago

General manager Justin Hollander said Friday that Crawford (oblique) likely won't be activated from the injured list when he's eligible May 5, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Crawford was placed on the injured list Thursday with a Grade 1 oblique strain -- the least severe type of strain -- though it appears the 29-year-old shortstop is still facing an extended absence. Hollander didn't provide an exact timeline for Crawford's return, but a 2-to-3 week absence seems to be the best possible scenario.

  • Alex Cobb SF SP
Giants' Alex Cobb: Pauses throwing program
    3h ago

Cobb (hip/elbow/shoulder) has been held back from throwing for the last few days due to soreness in his right shoulder, and he is set to see a team doctor Friday night, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.comreports.

Cobb was shifted to the 60-day IL on April 20 to give him more time to recover from his multiple ailments. He underwent left hip surgery in the offseason and was progressing through his rehab assignment following spring training, but he has suffered another setback with right shoulder soreness this time. Cobb's visit with the team doctor Friday night should give him and the Giants a better idea of the next steps forward in his rehab schedule.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Friday that Dominguez (elbow) has increased his throwing distance to 135 feet, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Dominguez continues to progress in his recovery from Tommy John surgery from last September, and Boone noted that the 21-year-old is "a few weeks" away from playing in a minor-league rehab game. Dominguez appeared in eight games with the Yankees last season, going 8-for-31 with four home runs and seven RBI over that span.

  • Kyle Nicolas PIT RP
Pirates' Kyle Nicolas: Recalled by Pittsburgh
    4h ago

The Pirates recalled Nicolas from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Nicolas ended the 2023 season as part of the Pirates' bullpen. He struggled in his four outings, giving up seven runs on seven hits and four walks while striking out seven over 5.1 frames. Nicolas has looked better in Triple-A this season, posting a 0.84 ERA and 2.06 WHIP over 10.2 innings, and he'll get another shot in Pittsburgh's bullpen. The move corresponds with Ryder Ryan being optioned by the Pirates to Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday.

O'Neale will start Friday's Game versus the Timberwolves, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.

Grayson Allen (ankle) will sit out Game 3, but he's considered day-to-day and could be back for Game 4 on Sunday. In 14 starts during the regular season, O'Neale averaged 10.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.9 three-pointers.

Suns' Grayson Allen: Won't play Friday
    34m ago

Allen (ankle) will not play in Friday's Game 3 versus the Timberwolves.

This is a tough blow for the Suns, as Allen has been key to Phoenix's floor spacing this season. He was able to get in a limited practice Thursday and is considered day-to-day, so the Suns could potentially get him back for Game 4 on Sunday. Eric Gordon and Royce O'Neale are candidates to see increased run in the meantime.

Timberwolves' Kyle Anderson: Available to play
    1h ago

Anderson (hip) is available for Friday's Game 3 versus the Suns, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.

Fantasy managers should exercise caution before plugging Anderson into lineups, as the forward didn't touch the floor despite being cleared to play in Game 2. It remains to be seen if he'll rejoin the rotation for Game 3.

  • Khris Middleton MIL SF
Bucks' Khris Middleton: Shines with 40-point double-double
    1h ago

Middleton recorded 42 points (16-29 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 6-6 FT), 10 rebounds and five assists over 41 minutes in Friday's 121-118 overtime loss to Indiana in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Middleton did all he could to help lead Milwaukee to an overtime victory, including hitting the game-tying shot at the end of regulation to send the game to overtime and also tying the game late in overtime, but his 40-point double-double was spoiled in a losing effort. Middleton led all players in Friday's contest in scoring while ending as one of two Bucks with 10 or more rebounds to go along with a handful of assists in a well-rounded outing. If Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) remains out in Game 4, look for Middleton to continue to provide a lift to Milwaukee offensively in the quarterfinals series.

Bucks' Damian Lillard: Nears 30 points despite injury
    1h ago

Lillard posted 28 points (6-20 FG, 4-12 3Pt, 12-12 FT), eight assists, three steals and one rebound over 45 minutes in Friday's 121-118 overtime loss to Indiana in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Despite leaving Friday's game briefly with a knee injury, Lillard finished the Game 3 contest while leading all Bucks players in assists and ending two points shy of the 30-point mark to provide a boost offensively in a losing effort. Lillard, who was perfect from the free-throw line to go along with a team-high-tying mark from three, has posted at least 28 points in all three games of the quarterfinals. It will be worth monitoring Lillard's status ahead of Game 4 and if he has an issues with his left knee that limits his availability.

Bucks' Bobby Portis: Owns glass in double-double showing
    1h ago

Portis finished with 17 points (7-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 18 rebounds, one block and one steal over 44 minutes in Friday's 121-118 overtime loss to Indiana in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Portis dominated the boards in Friday's contest, leading all players in rebounds while finishing as one of two Bucks with a double-double in a losing effort in overtime. Portis has stepped in nicely while Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) continuing to miss time, recording a double-double in all three games in the quarterfinals thus far. Portis will continue to remain in the starting lineup until Antetokounmpo is able to return, but will become a key player off of Milwaukee's bench if the two-time MVP does come back for Game 4 or at some point in the series against Indiana.
